OHare is a good shout with McNally much liked at Coventry a possible make weight
No need for a make-weight when O’Hare would be a free.

He’s now at Boro. On the bench tonight.
Azaz signed permanently for Boro this January.

Hopefully we don’t spend too much in case VK is potted after 12 games. A new manager may not want the recent type of signing.

According to a Coventry supporting mate (who really does know a bit about the club) they chose Bobby Thomas ahead of McNally.

Tbf I think you could argue our style is the same.

A team that passes out from the back and try’s to use tricky wingers to get into the final third and create.

Off course our formation has changed but I’m not sure our style has changed as much as people make out.
At least someone on here has a bit of sense

Massengo hasn't been mentioned yet.

I think he might add the grit we've been lacking. Only 22 and has already played around 100 Championship games.

I agree. An exciting one to watch out for next year (I think we should be looking to give him minutes this year).

What did Kompany and Bellamy say at the start of the season “we will be playing the same style and sticking to our principles”

We have far too many players on the books.

Need to sell 8/9 players, nevermind bring any new players in.

We definitely need to lose some centre backs. O Shea, Esteve, Beyer, Ekdal, Delcroix, Al Dakhil and McNally is way too many to carry at Championship level.

Burnley and Kompany will still attract good quality prem/championship level players next season for sure

First you’d need to look at the ones who need or are going to leave .

Almost certain :
Weghorst
Cork
Jay
Peacock-Farrell

Possible :
Roberts
JBG
Obafemi
McNally
Churlinov
Bastien
Egan-Riley
JBL defendant on loan to buy deal (unknown)
Tresor as above (unknown)
Brownhill (option on contract poss)
Berge - expect prem interest
Benson obvious reasons
Zaroury who knows
Twine no idea on his level now.

A lot of uncertainty on who will still be here.

As for incomings - a bit of steel and glue to hold the young lads together . Coupled with some exciting loans from the prem would be my preference . Keeping most of our squad together, whilst selling a few that we’ve already decided aren’t up to the level would be the perfect summer but when you look through the list above it all points towards a hectic summer again either way

That above list of players leaving you could add a few to that where I would expect top flight interest, here or overseas.

The hard bit is going to be keeping the ones we want while raising enough money to offset the relegation impact. Only after that can we think about new players, personally I only see right back, right wing (depending on JBL) and centre forward (back up to Foster) as priorities if we drop. The rest we should already have.

Agree with everyone on that list, but I'd suggest everyone is really for sale. We are going to need to raise as much money as possible this summer to cover the loss to revenue relegation from the premier league brings. Last time it was £60m, but given our debt will be higher now than it was then, we will probably need to raise more than £60m this time. The squad is massively bloated and that wage bill will need surgery.

There are obvious holes at full back but the thought process has to be next season, with a big nod towards where we are if we win promotion.

We dominated games and protected the defence by keeping the ball in our title winning side, something that is never going to happen in the Premier League.

We cannot go into a season in the Premier League with a young, physically weak (still young and maturing) defence that has literally no protection in front of them, the central midfield is a major priority for me, a replacement for Cork who can shield the back four and especially the two centre halves is massive imo.

Ideally this player would be physically dominant. You supplement this with Cullen and Berge (in a more attacking role) and we will look far stronger.

Hopefully a year in the Championship allows many of the players to mature physically and gain a big slice of confidence ready for a possible return in twelve months.

Sensible suggestion a 12 month loan with an option to buy with Chelsea for David Fofana
He is exactly what we need up front and unfortunately Forster looks a bit injury prone

Impressed with the young guy (only 19) Tyler Morton playing for Hull last night in central midfield
Currently there on loan from Liverpool but believe his contract is up this summer

What we'll be after depends on what we sell of course, but there are always some relative bargains to be found in the Championship and it'd seem to make sense to be looking for some solid Championship experience and leadership to compliment the callow players we'll have in the squad. There are a couple of out of contract players we've been linked with before, in O'Hare and Sam Field at QPR, and another experienced head who will be on a free is is Paddy McNair at Boro. Apart from their experience, McNair and Field have the sort of presence we'll hopefully be aiming to add to the squad.

There's another QPR player that I've been very impressed with this season who looks like he may be out of contract, or at least only have one year left on it: Sinclair Armstrong. He'd certainly command a development fee as he's homegrown and young, but as a raw pacey and powerful centre forward he's caught my eye more than once when I've seen QPR on the box this season. If we're after a forward, he'd seem a good option. Linked with Palace and Celtic.
Sinclair Armstrong has 3 goals in 50 apps for QPR Spice.

He's young, but he's quite literally nowhere near the level required.

Some of the comments ITT are strange; it's almost how a transfer discussion thread from sort of 2012 or so would down.
We are quite literally operating on a different level than picking up Championship jobbers on frees. WTF are some of y'all watching?!

With us potentially losing Cork, Taylor, Rodriguez, JBG, Brownhill we need to be looking for experienced and proven players, probably from England. I am thinking of players like James Justin of Leicester can play both sides as full back and a no nonsense defender

I’ve been impressed with Sinclair Armstrong on the odd occasion I’ve seen him. Definitely raw, but aggressive, strong and quick.

I wouldn’t be surprised if one of he more ambitious Championship clubs take a punt on him before long.

First loved and hated in equal measure Szmodics
Good finisher at a skint club
Whittaker Plymouth emerging talent in the Oli Watkins mold
Harrison Reed Fulham not their first choice good tackler and playmaker
Potts PNE decent defensive player
Conway Bristol City possible deal as their manager rated Scott Twine

I like Conway and he is only 21 so has plenty of time to improve.

I’ve been impressed with Sinclair Armstrong on the odd occasion I’ve seen him. Definitely raw, but aggressive, strong and quick.

I wouldn’t be surprised if one of he more ambitious Championship clubs take a punt on him before long.
Three goals in 50 games for QPR.

Sensible suggestion a 12 month loan with an option to buy with Chelsea for David Fofana
He is exactly what we need up front and unfortunately Forster looks a bit injury prone
I've seen rumours/quotes online stating Chelsea aren't looking at selling him but if they did the starting price is 40 million

He’s played out wide when I’ve seen him and I’d imagine a lot of those appearances will be off the bench. He’s only 20.

I’m not saying we should sign him, but he looks a genuine threat in the games I’ve seen.

Twitter Clarets have got hold of a report from South Africa…

Burnley will sign Mamelodi Sundowns right-back Khuliso Mudau, who plays for the South African national team, in the summer, according to manager Rhulani Mokwena.
