Re: Barnes goal last night
Good job he salvaged it with the second attempt as the first was a bit of a comedy balls up and could have gone down as a very costly miss if he hadn't!

BBC’s description ‘unconventional finish’ Is rather understating the technique.

To be fair, he did give the GK very little chance to save it as he must have been thinking 'what the hell is this guy doing'

That made me laugh, but strangely also made me proud.
Good on yer Ash, hope they're treating you well there and
looking after you.

Re: Barnes goal last night
Could he have managed another season at the Turf.....
...or had the time come for a parting of the ways?
Pretty obvious he/we could hardly have done any worse.

Brilliant, I wish he was still playing for us, just for commitment value.

Re: Barnes goal last night
He was our sharpest finisher - always willing to take a snap shot and get in place, although often he was obviously told to take passing positions, rather than striker positions. That's the problem we have now!
His dummy shot was brilliant! You would never know it was on purpose.
Then going to ground, the defence relaxed and allowed him to slide it in, effortlessly!
Master striker!
