You’re coming across like you don’t want to discuss Rovers decline, Jamesy?

Plenty of other threads for you to talk about Burnley on. Feel free not to read this one. But if you’re going to hang around, when do you think Eustace will get his first win?

Can’t believe they sacked a decent manager and brought in an awful one
Of course I don’t want to discuss Rovers decline. They have been in decline for years now and it’s irrelevant.
For what it’s worth I don’t really dislike Rovers either. Their supporters are very similar to us, working class folk from an economically deprived area.
My best mate from the Royal Marines died just over a year ago. He was a Rovers fan for his sins. However, he was just like me. We just supported different clubs and were supposed to be enemies but were proud Lancastrians and pals.
I won’t post any more on this Rovers thread because as you say, plenty of other threads available for me to discuss Burnley and how shite we are. Cheers for the advice.

That’s a shame but I’ll take it.

Hard to believe they sold Diaz (where’s he gone, actually?) and let JDT go… only to replace him with a guy who can’t get a win  And we think we’ve got problems.
Diaz is on loan at the Blades from Villarreal, where he hasn’t pulled up many trees. Funny player - I couldn’t believe how disinterested he was in the derby at the Turf last season, but he obviously scored some crucial goals for them.

Yes, knew he’d gone there but just hadn’t heard anything about him. Just had a look and it seems he’s in/out of the starting line up.

He was that awful in the derby games I wondered if he was coming here and didn’t want to score against us

I've got all 6 of my fingers crossed that they go down

In all honesty I suspect the quality is that poor at the bottom that they'll stay up. Birmingham look pretty bad and Plymouth got a good point today but are heavily reliant on Whittaker.

They've got some tough games on paper but it's starting to get to the business end where some of the bottom clubs start picking up results so who knows. I think if they go down this time and the Venky's keep cost cutting and not being able to give them investment that could be it for them.

I think going out of existence is too good for them personally- let them suffer away at Stockport in the lower leagues and occasionally get a dream draw against the Clarets in the Cup.

I don’t need to chill pal. Whilst you lot are laughing at those clowns down the road you are conveniently ignoring how useless we are.
We have just hit bottom spot in the Premier League and that is where we will stay. Embrace it.
Looking out for other results doesn't mean you're ignoring your own team. Weird post.

If Szmodics picks an injury up at any point of this run in they are screwed. They'd be more or less down now without him.

Yes, could do with Huddersfield beating the Baggies.
They'd go level on points with R*vers.

27 goals in early March by Szmodics is some going, to be fair. Surely, when he goes, they can't find yet another saviour like they always seem to.

We all know we have been terrible this season and there have been plenty of threads highlighting this, yet when we laugh at the plight of our fiercest rivals, these so called Burnley fans can't wait to have another go criticising our team on unrelated thread.
But that's how you sort out the wheat from the chaff

Watched the botherers v newcastle game Pete… they looked like they had a game plan, and carried a bit of steel about em, and as we all know from our recent past, it’s amazing what you can achieve when set up like that. Especially against a side who run out of ideas once in sight of the 18 yard box. 🤔🥴😉👍🏻
You watched a team raising their game against a top PL team, nothing more. My son in law watches them week in and week out and he is despairing of them. He actually says they are sh!te and will be lucky to stay up. If we played them right now we’d bury them. Don’t forget what we are playing against most weeks compared to what they are playing.

We're far better off not playing them. It ensures that our unbeaten run continues.
In a one off game there's always a chance of the underdog winning, and who knows how well we're going to play next season?

I take your point

I think it would take a monumental amount of squad turmoil not to be able to put out a team better than Rovers next year. But I agree Derby games can throw out odd results and particularly if we got drew them early before we’d had time to find form, it could be a banana skin. Best they go down

Yes, have to say i think they'll stay up, mainly because of the dross below them, hovering just above the relegation
places. Huddersfield were awful yesterday, for example.

Love to be proved wrong on that, though.

It's nice having that record but I'd rather play them. We've all seen us lose to them loads before, the world doesn't end.

Them being in League One would be funny, and we'd be guaranteed to keep the years building up on our unbeaten run, but you don't get days like that glorious 3-0 last season that way.

I've watched them on TV recently around the last 4/5 games due to Burnley not playing and believe me they are sh!t, Plymouth should have buried them Saturday as should Millwall and as should Swansea ( 2 points gained from those 3 sides in the relegation shake up and two of those at home)

Have you taken in to account their run in? It's hilarious from a Burnley point of view with only Sheff Wed in and around them where you could say that Rovers should win the rest are pretty much either chasing automatic promotion or the playoffs.

The longer Useless goes winless the more difficult it becomes for them 🤣

There's a real chance they lose their next 4, which would really put the deep in it. Bristol City won't be easy then they have Leeds away. Th eonly thing that may save them is there are plenty of sides that are as bad, if not worse beneath them. Useless Eustace doing a fine job there.

Middlesbrough are extremely unpredictable, and Sunderland are probably the worse team in the division in 2024, and they've lost Clarke too. They should never have potted Mowbray. In fact they've now lost 6 on the bounce.
I would agree though that if Blackburn don't beat Sunderland then they could be in trouble.

Sunderland have lost their last six, so it's time they upped that form.

There's still two relegation places to fill in the Championship (Rotherham are gone)
so you never know, if...IF...Sheffield Wednesday keep up their recently improved form,
and R*vers do indeed suffer a calamitous spell in their tough run-in, then it maybe
Rotherham, Huddersfield and that shower that take the drop.

But there's still Stoke, Brum and QPR also in trouble.

I know three people who go regularly, a season ticket holder, a Liverpool fan who lives in Blackburn and a Spurs fan who lives there too. All very knowledgeable football guys. All of them are convinced that Rovers are doomed. I’ll bow to their knowledge.

They've won two out of the last 19 games they've played in the Championship, but were outstanding against Newcastle in the Cup !
As a greybeard who can recall us losing 1-2 at home to Wrexham in front of a full house, and the 4th Division trophy being presented before the game, in 1992, I hope Leicester still need a win on that last day ...

They have definitely got the hardest run-in out of the bottom seven (excluding Rotherham who are already gone).

After tonight's game, the remaining fixtures are:
