Re: West Ham United V The Clarets 2pm KO
I'm taking full credit for this.
I took Fofana out of my fantasy team for Solanke, who I captained and he missed a pen.
I also brought Areola in instead of Ederson.

Re: West Ham United V The Clarets 2pm KO
Well that was a pleasant surprise. I think we need to change it up a bit in the second though as we struggled badly to retain the ball for the last 20 mins of the half, hitting aimless long balls and not competing for seconds. Odobert surely isn’t the answer in the no 10 position.
I think West Ham will come out all guns blazing and worry how we’d react to conceding the third goal.

For the first time in quite a while, we made our early pressure count. And what a difference it has made

Shows what a properly organised outing can do, rather than an impromptu get together.
Re: West Ham United V The Clarets 2pm KO
On this showing you can see why their fans want Moyes gone they’ve been woeful. Can only play what’s in front of you though we’ve been decent and more importantly second game in a row where the effort is clearly there. More of the same lads

Re: West Ham United V The Clarets 2pm KO
They have had more of the ball going forward but we have stood up to everything they have thrown at us so far. Trafford barely been tested which is a credit to the way the defence have worked so far.spt_claret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 2:54 pmBeen very fragmented viewing today, only half watching had some personal things to sort out. From what I've seen (didn't even see 2nd goal) we're very lucky to have a lead, nevermind 2-0, but I'll take a lucky win over an unlucky loss all day long. Can't really comment on anything in particular as I've not seen much beyond the first goal and a few West Ham attacks. Hopefully we hold onto this lead, would very much like to see a win today.
The lad on the right is giving Taylor a bit of a hard time but nothing costly as yet.

We’ve proven this half that we can be a decent team when we cut out the silly mistakes…

West ham can't be as poor second half . I'd like to see Brownhill now for Odobert to strengthen the midfield . Keep going clarets .

Fair play, don't think anyone saw that coming. Shows how important it is to take advantage of a good start. Usually we do ok for 10 minutes, concede a soft goal and the game plan falls apart. For a change we got the early goal, giving us something to hold onto. Let's hope we can keep it tight in the early stages of the second half.

Agree with this. He looks like he’s running in treacle. His recovery runs have always been slow for this level but he looks ponderous and like his legs have gone today.Greekclaret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 2:31 pmTaylor struggling. Kudus is a tricky customer so not surprised but he doesn’t seem to be sprinting back, looks leggy

Re: West Ham United V The Clarets 2pm KO
That was a really good first half. West Ham were poor but I think we made them poor - we've often started games quite well then drifted out - the goal gave us some confidence so we maintained that start.Burnley Ace wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 2:16 pmWhy do you say that! It’s quite obvious that there are posters on here that would be quite content for us to lose every match if it supported their Kompany Out agenda. It’s idiotic to pretend otherwise
I want to see that continue second half and then again next week. If we can finish on 20-25 points it will be a good final quarter of the season and hopefully a springboard for next.
The worst thing would be for this to be lost and we peter out with odd decent "we've turned the corner" performances wvrry 4 games or so, which is how the season has played out mostly- that makes everything more indecisive and we end up sticking when we should have twisted.

I’d like to see Brownhill for Odobert in the not too distant. We need to pack the midfield.

Problem is that now we're actually leading it's going to be toturous.
If we concede then I can see a nightmare.
Oh my word! Worst nightmare. FFS! Keep it tight for 10!

Some urgency for them now. That's when we begin to look fallible.

There’s a West Ham goal for the supposed BFC fans on here to get excited and giddy about

TBH, instances like that are why we're almost certainly going down.

**** off - people are unhappy with the way we have gone about this season and think changing the manager will make us better is all.
It's hard to disagree really (although there's zero point in ,changing manager right now)
