England very good today, bookings were mainly deserved. Not sure I have ever written that exact phrase.

He has been worse before reffing us definitely ...
Cannot disagree with Tonys scores above but can't vote as watched on an online stream.

He was certainly better than average. Pretty good I’d say, and nothing controversial.

Bump
If any posters went to the match would be great if they could add their scores to this post
John spends a lot of time on the “Rate the Ref” and it would give a better understanding of the referee performance with several scores.

Re: RATE THE REF - Darren England v West Ham United
A. 22 - played a good advantage for the Hammers at one point then went back and booked Berge. Hate to say it but was good refereeing
B. 22 - I hate those fouls refs give when a player is touched and falls over. At least DE was consistent and gave those fouls to both sides
C. 25 - never noticed him out of position so have to give him full marks
D. 21 - pretty good here, too. Bit of a kerfuffle about the Berge handball but that's about it
Overall, we've had MUCH worse refereeing performances than DE's, this season. I did note David Moyes whinging about the ref (or 'decisions' at least) but I honestly thought DE was about as fair/consistent/uncontroversial a ref as I've seen for a while

Re: RATE THE REF - Darren England v West Ham United
This thread was created for the sole purpose of slagging referees so no surprise to me that a referee has a good game and there are few posts

Re: RATE THE REF - Darren England v West Ham United
Nonsense - these posts have been running for years and were never created for slagging referees but for rating their performances as per the sticky thread at the top of the board.

You can deride as much as you like but it won't change the pattern of this thread. Its so predictableClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2024 10:43 amNonsense - these posts have been running for years and were never created for slagging referees but for rating their performances as per the sticky thread at the top of the board.

Re: RATE THE REF - Darren England v West Ham United
Hardly but there again have you been studying these threads for however many years RTR has been running? And the suggestion that they are set up to slag off referees is nothing short of nonsensical.

Re: RATE THE REF - Darren England v West Ham United
Carry on with your derision if it suits you.
A bit of constructive advice. Delay it. Allow people time to reflect before commenting fresh after the game. Its often useful to have another look at incidents on TV as opinions from watching the game can change.
Only three posters marking and several bumps of this particular thread after a good performance from the referee tell the story.
If you are going to defend this with people will not have it fresh in their minds the day after then I would call that what you have called my comments

Strange response from someone who doesn't understand what it's about but I won't waste my time replying again.Elizabeth wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2024 5:45 pmCarry on with your derision if it suits you.

To be fair Elizabeth, as with player ratings you can't delay publishing it. They'd be uproar on hereElizabeth wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2024 5:45 pmCarry on with your derision if it suits you.

People have to manage their own time to reflect then mark.
Regarding only 3 posters marking is just human nature, I'm more likely to mark a poor ref than a good one, but like the 3 that have marked they have given a good mark.
Keep up the good work UTC

It is being used to beat up the refs in practice. Really a RATE THE BAD REF thread.

No look at the league table
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=143
looks pretty good to me
When a ref gets its wrong, eg the bad tackle from behind on Ramsey that has injured him, without giving a free kick, I'll mark him low or the ruled out goal against Luton for the block on Trafford again I'll mark him low.
However, I have rated good performances.
