The worst thing for me is that the knock out stages will be totally seeded (like a tennis tournament) based on the league stage
I.e. 1st seed plays 16th seed, 2nd seed plays 15th seed, with 1st and 2nd at opposite sides of the draw so they can't play until the final.
Without the randomness of an open draw it'll just mean easier passage for the 'big' teams. I'd be amazed if the top 8 aren't largely the same 8 teams every single season.
