Just checking.
They were dripping like broken fridges at half time.

So are Luton a badly-managed team of bottle jobs who have no organisation, heart or balls to defend a 3-0 lead now?

Page 1 will be usual suspects posting “you see, this is why Burnley are so bad and worse than Luton”, and Page 2 will be, well, absent from those posters
They only support teams when they’re winning. Their support for Luton is just as flimsy fickle and results dependant as their support for BFC.

The same conversation over and over again, posters revelling in how rubbish we are so use this as another opportunity to remind us how rubbish we are.

We get it, we’re crap and getting relegated, we’ve heard it a thousand times already, I’m sure tinpot Luton have a forum somewhere
Are you describing this season or your posts during the Dyche era?

I would not mind conceding 4 goals against Bournemouth and losing 4-3, if we had 21 points on the board. Lets face it if we have 21 points at the end of the seasons its a lot more than some will have envisaged based on form all season. Lets see how Luton react in their next game-thats the acid test

We are shite, no doubt about that - but so are Luton. They have relied on the surprise factor of Kenilworth Road and physical/aerial assaults on unsuspecting big boys. They’re riding a wave like Blackpool and some other clubs have done but are still, ultimately, getting relegated. Their talisman will be departing on a free transfer and they will be well below us next season in my opinion.

(Note: Rob Edwards has done a SUPERB job, none of the above is criticism of him or what Luton have achieved in even getting to this level - just in response to any comparative discussion against a terribly underwhelming Burnley this season).

I think it's the relative attitudes of the players, Luton players regardless of ability seem to leave everything on the pitch most games. There have been plenty of games this season where we can question that about some of our players. Luton would be where we are without Barkley and Lokonga this season...........but Luton spent 30 quid and we spent 100 million or thereabouts.

Incredible really. Ian Maatsen heading for a Champions League quarter final. Meanwhile Nathan Tella is on his way to winning a Bundesliga title.
Just shows the luck we had with the quality of loanees last season.

Could be wrong but think tella has only lost 3 league games in about 70 games.

I fully agree Vegas on attitude/heart etc (something I feel quite a few of our regulars this season lack in spades, specifically some of the new signings). Our spend was ludicrous for what we have got in return, but we’re ultimately both going to go down I’d say. I fancy us to return a Hell of a lot quicker than Luton who may well never be at this level again. I just think the constant praise of Luton as a stick to beat us with doesn’t serve any purpose. We have enough to criticise internally without using Luton as some sort of yardstick.

Was actually out injured for the QPR defeat and hasn’t played a minute of a lost game since Sheff Utd away, as far as I am aware.

Was in that ground tonight and the memory still gives me palpitations, but its amazing Nathan’s record since (which to be fair is more on his teammates than him)

I think this game showed how important application is and the gap in relative quality. Bournemouth were on the beach first half, credit to whatever the manager said at half time but as soon as they upped their work rate Luton couldn't live with them.

Just got in from watching women’s Championship at Bramall Lane (good quality and no diving), so haven’t read this thread yet, but am predicting Page 1 will be usual suspects posting “you see, this is why Burnley are so bad and worse than Luton”, and Page 2 will be, well, absent from those posters
I see I was right  . Cool, Bumba and our resident Rovers fan in particular.

I’d love Luton to stay up and us relegate that Greek chap in the last game, even if it isn’t in our best interests, but let’s be clear and this is the thing fans need to understand - the gap is massive and getting bigger. We have spent about £50m, and it isn't enough. We just have to keep going.

Some may say £100m, but lets take out Beyer (injured often), take out Ramsey (young and hasn’t played), take out Tresor (only 600 minutes out of about 2,600). What is left is only about £60m and much of that will be extras, so call it £50m. Really the only big signings playing regularly have been Amdouni, Trafford, Berge and to a lesser degree Odobert.

(p.s. could have done better in the market with that cash, yes, yes, we all agree on that, but at least they are young, some clubs blow it on pensioners)

Heartwarming, no pun intended, to see Lockyer travel down, walk onto the pitch, and thank the paramedics who saved his life. Simply wonderful. He owes them a debt he can never repay, nor would they want him to.

Can’t underestimate how galvanising the effect on Luton was, a shame if it isn’t enough. When it happened they were 1 point ahead of us. Since them we have dropped 6 points to Luton and only 2 to Everton and 4 to Forest, so Luton have outperformed us all since then.

It does work like that in terms of assessing the teams chances to win a game. Which is basically what all the chat on here does.

Money spent on non-playing players, either as a future investment or a fall back if injuries occur, aren’t as relevant as money spent on a regular starter. Of course, the poor investments may affect the club in the future, but that is a different issue.

It’s quite sad really. Plenty on here ignoring our massive deficiencies to have a pop at Luton.

It might have been a little over 20 years ago but that was the game of Ferguson's infamous half time team talk:

'Lads, it's Tottenham.'

Surprised Luton have gotten as far as they have in all honesty -

That's the sort of result that can totally deflate and take the wind out of a team in Luton's position.

It's still impressive that they've been able to get results with their squad that (Barkley aside) is absolute Championship fodder.

Good luck with this. You are coming across as a bitter big time Charlie calling them ale house brawlers.
It’s quite sad really. Plenty on here ignoring our massive deficiencies to have a pop at Luton.
I know it's a depressing state of affairs but when you get down to the bones of it they are 7pts better off & only 3 pts from potentially staying in the division that's the reality & as a Burnley fan it's nothing to feel good about.

Match threads on here are always entertaining.

Didn't expect one not involving us to be right up there I must admit

That has to the bottle job of the century?!! 3 up at half time and losing 4-3. Wowser!

I've been impressed with Luton this season, as many have been. They're clearly a limited team pulled together on a shoestring budget, so they hark back to the first promotion under Dyche for many, but that's a shocker last night; a season defining shocker.

It'll go down as their "sliding doors" moment. A bit like the Leicester game where Taylor missed the penalty for us and they went straight up the other end and won it. We all knew that the season was done in that moment.

The bottom three is nailed on now. Mentally, they aren't coming back from losing from that position.
