Tom Tweedy
Tom Tweedy
This lad scored again yesterday in the U21s against Coventry.
For those who have seen him, what are your opinions, please? He seems to be involved in a lot of our goals (setting up).
Thank you.

Oops. Deleted.
Re: Tom Tweedy
Watched him in the Lancashire cup game against sacked. He was our best play and has a certain determination and physicality that augers well for the future.

Re: Tom Tweedy
It's a shame that a player suddenly gets elevated when he's scored a couple of goals. It's not that many years ago people were screaming for Ntumba Massanka to be given a chance in the first team. Tweedy has been out injured for a long spell this season and is starting to play more regularly now in the under-21s since recovering.

Re: Tom Tweedy
Tbf CT, people are absolutely bound to look at our youth set up and speculate and look to see if there's another McNeil in there somewhere. It might be Tweedy, or Mellon, or Dodgson, or Hugill, or Massara, or Toraj or Richardson or a whole host of other promising prospects. Or indeed it might be none of them. We'll see in the fullness of time.

Re: Tom Tweedy
That’s spot on, we will see in the fullness of time. In all the years I’ve covered the youth team etc. I’ve rarely promoted one player because I think it’s unfair. When you get someone coming through who is clearly first team bound then it might be different and that is do very rare.Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2024 11:58 amTbf CT, people are absolutely bound to look at our youth set up and speculate and look to see if there's another McNeil in there somewhere. This lad, in particular, has been out ages with an injury but has come back and scored a couple of goals.

Re: Tom Tweedy
I could be way off but I don’t recall hearing McNeill being mentioned much before breaking into the team
Yet the ones that constantly are never/rarely do eg Anthony Shandran & Max Thompson

Not sure whether you think I was calling for the lad to be in the team against Brentford today, Tony.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2024 11:47 amIt's a shame that a player suddenly gets elevated when he's scored a couple of goals. I was just asking for opinions, that's all.
