Controversial comment

With a better manager with these players we would have stayed up this season. The easiest season ever to stay in the premier league

You don't say.

With a worse manager we wouldn't have gone up in the first place.

It's the fact that some of our biggest signings that were given ample time to show their worth really haven't proven to be better than what we had (and in some instances notably worse), yet VK stuck and doubled down each week.

There's time for some of them to still deliver for the Clarets but on the basis of this season alone players like Traff, Amdouni, Tresor and Ramsey have delivered very little for their price tag.

Name the manager. Most, his in game management is horrendous. It’s had to take the fans to turn for him to change things. Who brings Amdosser on and secondly why he didn’t bring on Johan for Odebert to close the game out. **** changes at West Ham **** changes today

No. With these players no manager would have kept us up.
The wrong players are at a club expecting to remain in the top division

The league is horrendous this year at the bottom. Forest and Everton will count themselves extremely lucky to stay up

Why easiest ever??

Teams at the bottom with few points show that actually it’s the toughest it’s ever been to stay up.

So many changes in 3 windows, obviously on what would (by anyone with a brain) be seen as a very low spend in PL terms. We've tried to bring in young players as investments for the future. Some may work out, and we're not down yet.

Dream on bill about us not being down. We could have spent the same amount of money and brought in experienced players instead of one or two of these ill equipped ' players of the future' as you call them. The lack of PL quality has cost us dearly.

Perhaps, but I’m happy that the win has eased the pressure on Vinny somewhat, as I still want him at the helm next season.

That being said, I think if we’d persevered with more of last season’s regulars we’d have had more points on the board. Muric and Cullen - both brought back into the fold and both were excellent.

You live and learn.

Every season sees 6 or 7 clubs who aren't that great. In fact it could be argued that once you take the top 6 or 7 out of the equation the rest of the division isn't that great in any particular season. The gulf between the top 6 and the rest has grown wider though, season by season the best get even better.

We are not that much worse than the teams sat comfortably in mid table. Confidence is obviously totally missing, individual mistakes are common and have generally been severely punished which, along with some questionable referee and VAR decisions, have cost us untold points. Our failings have seen us become scared to play, especially once we go behind or, as we saw last week, take the lead, which has also cost us many points, the supporters have become increasingly restless and resigned which, I think, has transmitted itself to the management and players.

Crying out for Foster and Benson in exchange for Fofana and Oderbert after 75 minutes. Absolutely obviously imo and we wouldn't have been hanging on against 10 men and looking utterly crap ( at that point!)

He wouldn't be alone on here, bloody hell, some people are just miserable. If Forest and Everton are docked points and we get a couple more wins while they lose we are still in with a chance of staying up.

it could happen. :geek:

They went a bit transfer happy with the number of wingers we signed. Most of us were impressed that we acted quickly and got transfers over the line last summer as opposed to last few days at end of window.

We signed Beyer who was one of our impressive loanees from last season. We signed OShea to play alongside him and Ekdal and to back them up. We really needed a couple of mobile hard tackling midfielders to offer some steel. A captain with Premier League experience and capability would’ve been useful also to help support the youngsters. Sadly lots of injuries have meant an unsettled side and confidence has fallen dramatically after poor results.

I’m happy that VK should have another chance next season and hope he has learnt a few valuable lessons as he has gone through the trials of this season.

Give over. Brentford were pretty poor today. Palace are way worse than the sides we beat under Dyche. Everton are a shadow of their old self. Forest are shaky. All our sides up to 21/22 would probably have taken plenty of points off these.

It’s as hard / easy to stay up this year as any other year. The idea the quality of a league of 20 teams varies that much from one season to the next is weird.

It’s like when you say the Championship is a poor league one year. As if it’s anything other than a division full of players not quite good enough for the top flight. Clubs move up and down but the standard is pretty much always the same throughout the leagues.

You know, it was incredibly annoying having halfwits slating Kompany after a defeat.

Now we have them doing it after a win. The only controversial thing is why this board allows threads like this to develop. Feels like wading through a cesspit. Only came on to do my player ratings.

I know it's completely & utterly wrong to question when we are almost dead & buried why we've suddenly reinstalled a goalkeeper who's been instrumental in gaining us 3 precious points & thinking could have things been so much different had he started the season & on today's showing that's a yes far different.

We’re long gone mate… seriously, not even VK’s mum thinks we can survive this.

Of all the permanent incomings, you could count on the fingers of one hand those who MAY actually make it. The vast majority, we’ve lost serious money on. The keeper for example…£19m is reported what we splashed out for him…. We’ve turned him into a £3m keeper in less than a season. All by chucking him out there before he was ready. And we waited until he was absolutely broken and without any shred of confidence left before asking last seasons keeper to help us out… that, along with how last seasons heroes have been treated is enough for me to realise that VK is far from top level management material.

Yet you couldnt quite manage to do just that….

You’re only allowed to do player ratings if you watched the game live.

If you are questioning why people are having a bit of a pop after scraping past 10 men at home, then quite obviously you didn’t watch it.

There are half a dozen people determined to pollute every thread. “We won’t win another game” - we won. “Komoany will never play Muric” - Muric plays. “Pace is invisible” - Pace is in the Dyche before the game. “Luton make my underpants moist” - Luton drop points at home. “Substitutions are pointless” - he subs the sub.

All the usual angles are covered tonight so they’re resorting to criticising based on hypotheticals. It’s tiresome.

Great win today and a good atmosphere on the Turf.

Don’t think they will have actually shelled out £19m YET for Trafford. Payments are often in instalments and will consist of a basic fee plus extras assuming certain levels of progress are attained. He’s not turned into a bad keeper and I hope the experience will toughen him up a bit. Keepers like Heaton and Pope were knocking around in lower leagues for a while before reaching goalkeeping maturity at Burnley. It was a big ask to step up from league one to an unforgiving Premier League.

VK has made some frustrating mistakes but I think his performance last year gives us promise for the future. Nothing is guaranteed though. I prefer consistency of managers and this has helped Burnley prosper in last 10 years or so. Hope we don’t turn into a Watford/ Sunderland type of club.

Truth is it's virtually impossible to rebuild a squad capable of competing above the bottom 5...6 in the PL on what we have spent.

I know it's completely & utterly wrong to question when we are almost dead & buried why we've suddenly reinstalled a goalkeeper who's been instrumental in gaining us 3 precious points & thinking could have things been so much different had he started the season & on today's showing that's a yes far different.
I think it's premature to look on today's performance as a vast improvement that will get us wins. Yes, we hing on against Brentford's 10 men and could have won by more (or could have drawn or lost). But we have played teams in the past, and will paly teams in the future, that are better than Brentford's 10.

I don't think that today's performance, replicated over all 29 matches so far, would have got us many (if any) more points than we have actually got.

Kompany was ecstatic at the end, he even made a point of hugging Muric who appeared courteous towards him but no more. None of us like admitting when we are wrong, hopefully Kompany has learnt, come out with some bullsh1t excuse I'm not bothered just keep Muric in. His starting today was like the dropping of Joe Hart, he also like Trafford did his best but you need to read the crowd. Trafford will be a great keeper in the Premier league but he needs to grow up,bulk up and dominate.

Wouldn't have improved our goal tally much though. :D

Reality is, we only needed to compete above the bottom 3.
Maybe if after spending an average of £4m on say 10 players. Then up to £20m on a defender, then the £15-20m Southampton wanted for Tella, a player who knows us, and a player we know can score goals. That would’ve given us a better chance than the multitude of young unproven wingers we signed.

The sooner we can get rid of this yank board and Kompany and give Mark Robin’s the manager’s job the better.

If he’s no good look elsewhere.

And what’s Mark Robins ever won. 😆😆

Muric very rarely shows emotion. Even last year when we won the title. Your reading too much into situations
