Beehole's Monday night mini scrapbook quiz (9pm Mon 18-3-2024)
I dont know if people remember my above Monday night scrapbook quiz which was posted on the old ClaretsMad site back in 2012 & 2013.
My scrapbook was compiled when I followed Jimmy Adamson's 'Team of the Seventies' and this linked in with other football related questions from different periods.
It was just a bit of retro fun and kept a few of us out of mischief on a Monday night. I thought I would give it another run for a few weeks on Up The Clarets starting hopefully at 9pm tomorrow (March 17th 2024).
All are welcome to contribute – posters decisions are final (unlike referee Darren Bond who had to rely on VAR and Ivan Toney to discover what had really happened!).
The questions are mainly aimed at posters who can remember the good old days of the 20th century although other times maybe included).
There are basically 6 questions (some with 5 or 6 subsections) with a number of different answers required along the way. I usually publish all 6 questions at once and it is up to people to just fire away with their answers. Whoever gets the correct answer first gets the point. When all answers are in the quiz wraps up.
Last time I did this most answers were in before 9-30pm so hopefully wont drag out too long. As it was designed as a fun quiz points were awarded for outlandish answers (subject of course to the approval of the OP ).
All you have to do is “log on” to the UTC site if you want to contribute or attempt a few answers. Otherwise just test out your own memory and do your own quiz at home.
Most people should get the hang of it but I suppose you have to be quick to beat others.
Is your name on the following list as these user names were regular contributors to the Monday night sessions.
Daveisaclaret, clareturion, , cricketfield, Thewellernut, brianoneilstackle, burnleybonzo, DiBranchio, Claret1205, steviethunder, gordonvaleclaret, Minniemouth, cricketfield72, hipper,
feej72, Supersub6, Redbeard, addisclaret, Stevie2112, stalbansclaret, Life of Riley, Lotty, royboyclaret, Enolagay, claretblue, todclaret, sausages, BFCall the way, Bin Ont Turf, jdrobbo,
cloughyclaret, andywharton, ClaretTony, TuftyBamish, spadesclaret, pstotto, theenclosure,
buxtonclaret
Please be patient if the text of the questions does not appear in a legible format as Ive not posted en-bloc for a long time therefore technical issues may arise!
Please post if you are interested / likely to join us on Monday evening.

2012 - 2013 season…NEVER - last year surely!!
Loved being part of Beeholes quizzes!
They were normally on a Sunday evening.
Yes…I hope to be part of the entertainment Monday night.
Thanks for resurrecting this again - much appreciated!

I am on ze list - it's nice to know my contributions are remembered.
I used to love the quiz, especially the pun names round. Unfortunately, I play football on Monday nights so won't be around. I may drop in later with a pun or two.

I'm in, they were great fun ... a waltz down " memory lane " for our more senior members, and an opportunity to learn about our history for our younger brethren ! Top Tip .... if it's a " missing outfield player ", answer either Les Latcham or Arthur Bellamy ... you have a fair chance of being correct, and, if not, you'll sound as if you know what you're talking about ..

Yes I wondered if that might be the case when I jotted down some of the names from 11 years ago. RIP to each and everyone of them. Hopefully in some way its nice to remember them and that they were up for a fun quiz with fellow posters on here. I remember having some laughs with Lotty who was a regular poster on CMad.

Ha ha - no 'fun' points allocated until after 9pm when I will post all 6 questions at once on this thread.
People can answer them randomly in whatever order they fancy. It maybe an idea to start at Question 6 whilst others are starting on Q1. Its the first person to post correctly who wins the points. Hopefully all a bit of fun in what has been a tough season with few smiles for Clarets.

Re: Beehole's Monday night mini scrapbook quiz (9pm Mon 18-3-2024)
ALL QUESTIONS WILL BE POSTED AT 9pm
Welcome to this evening's quiz (originally inspired by my scrapbook from the early 1970's.)
To me, aged 12, life was carefree and happy as I stood at the players entrance on Brunshaw Road with dozens of other Clarets supporters collecting autographs of Burnley players and their opponents.
To play log in and insert your 'comment' with QUESTION NUMBER followed by your ANSWER
(Example 1a Ralph Coates).
Other people who dont fancy joining in can simply do the quiz in their own time.
Just fire in your answers as soon as you spot one you know. If you take time to do all the questions and answers it is most likely others will have beaten you to it.
All points are for fun and there are no prizes – no Mexico 1970 World Cup Ford Escort Mark 1 for the winner I'm afraid.
I will post all the questions and ANSWERS after the quiz is complete.

c. Who was our opponents magical midfielder? ……………………………
d. What was the significance of the game being played when it was? ……………..

b. Who were the opponents? (2 points)
6 Who am I? …...................................... (4 points)
I was born in Scotland in the 1950's and made my debut for Burnley in the old first division. I played in the old second division until our relegation to the third division in 1980. I joined another North West club and captained them to a fourth division championship alongside a number of ex Clarets. In the mid 1980's I played for 2 seasons in Holland and then returned to play at Chester and then onto Turf Moor once again in the summer of 1989. I was to be sent off in my 500th football league game.
