Ron Baynham yes I saw that yesterday but can't for the life of me remember him, probably because he played for Luton.

Baynham played in the first FA Cup final I watched on TV, in 1959, Luton v Forest. I also remember I had a football card with him on, I think they came with packs of bubblegum

If you look at it another way, Frank Blunstone of Chelsea is still alive, he won his first cap on 10th November 1954 aged 20, in a 3-2 win against Wales and is the longest lived since his debut. Tommy Banks is older, but didn't make his debut until 1958 .. For interest, 1954 was the year that the painter, Henri Matisse died and Elvis Presley recorded his first released single ...
