Will Norris

Post by warksclaret » Thu Mar 21, 2024 9:33 am

Just read that Will Norris has kept 18 clean sheets at Portsmouth. Seem to recall he played well for Peterborough last year whilst on loan, helping them get to the play offs. When Sean gave him a chance in two full PL games he was pretty disastrous, but nice to know he has found his right club and level in League 1 and could be playing against us next season.

It felt like we were playing without a keeper when he played. Everything seemed to go in.

Really glad to see he's progressed and is doing well, but
at the time for us he was miles off.

I think Electro more a case of him finding his natural level rather than progressing. Seem to recall that after Peterborough spanked Sheff Wed at home in the first leg of the play-off semi, Norris had a stinker in the second leg when Peterborough conceded a 4 goal lead and went on to lose

It doesn't always follow that a keeper has had a 'mare when conceding 4 or 5

He conceded four goals in his two games for us and was seriously at fault with all four

A lad who used to work with us played in the same side as Norris, I think it may have been at Hatfield Town. He was astounded that we signed Norris as he wasn't a good keeper at non-league level.

That Liverpool game he looked frightened to death, even before a ball had been kicked, then played like he was.

I'm glad he's having another good season and wish him well.

He has 29 clean sheets in 64 games since leaving the Clarets, however, he has been fortunate in that he has played with two teams who were both having decent runs of good form and that does make a big difference. Good luck to him.
