Southgate’s record against the top sides is appalling. The guy is clueless.

That’s where phases of offside is b0ll0x.
Clearly offside from the initial pass and that is why he was first to the rebound.

Friendlies are never pointless. World ranking relies on them, so very important for seeding purposes when it comes to the competitions and how difficult it is to progress to the later stages.

Not defending them, I hate international breaks and find it hard enough to watch internationals when they are the Euros and WC… and tbh I don’t always bother with them, either.

It’s a friendly so not to be taken too seriously but it doesn’t offer any answers to the doubts Southgate is a flat track bully and can’t beat the top teams in world football.

Was offside for sure - but the rule should have also been that the scorer couldnt score that opp

i hate watching england, but still do - dont know why i bothered i knew exactly how it would go.

if the offside rule is going to be so convoluted they may as well scrap it altogether.

and joe cole is the most slavishly sycophantic yes man in the history of the universe. he could defend stalin.

On second time watching the offside situation was difficult to judge as the TV camera was not inline with the players in question.

Friendly, Europa League,Euro’s, World Cup. Does anyone know what England’s plan to win is against the better sides?

I was looking forward to that game but should have known better.

You could just see the England players couldn’t concentrate in that kit.
What must Bobby Moore be thinking.

I have, I can see patterns of play (or the lack of) with some of the best players we've ever seen in an England shirt - they struggle against good opponents regardless of the circumstance, I guess you must wonder why that is ?

Our problems were down the left hand side. Chilwell isn’t good enough and neither is Maguire. Shaw is never fit so that position could be a problem. As for Maguire who have we got apart from Dunk?

Personally I'd rather watch any of Dunk, Tomori, Tarky, Konsa, Guehi or Branthwaite all start (if fit) ahead of Maguire.
