I was chatting to Lanky three days ago. He said he’d got a new job but couldn’t divulge where until his new club announced it. He said it was with Mark Fell who he’d worked with at Lancaster until earlier this season.

Think they were both together at Rammy and Lancaster. I was told that when at Rammy , Fell subsidised the playing budget. Workington took Ramsbottom’s manager a few seasons back, lockdown time, my window cleaner who is the know ;) reckoned with expenses included he was on £36k. Must be a struggle for Workington to attract players and managers due to the remoteness. The former Rammy manager lived in Glossop , fair trek to Workington. Don’t doubt Workington could get decent gates, always brought a coach to Rammy, both were Tuesday night games . To some it was probably a big day out
