Microsoft Outlook help needed (SPAM)
I've recently hit a problem with mail from an email group I'm a member of. Until then, all had worked, I received all the emails and was able to send them into the group.
Then, all of a sudden, they are virtually all dropping into my Junk folder. That's a pain but neither can I send emails into the group any longer, when IN try I get a response from the System Administrator telling me that the email address cannot be reached with the following message:
"552 5.7.0 SPAM Content Found (VM603) q8WyrFGASvluGq8WyrrCly"
I've not changed anything at all, at least not knowingly, and everything else seems to be working OK.

Re: Microsoft Outlook help needed (SPAM)
I just put that into Chat GPT and it offered the below. I assume you've tried the first bit. Do you know if anyone else in the group has started having issues?
It sounds like Outlook's spam filter might be flagging emails from the email group as spam. You can try marking those emails as not spam to train the filter. Additionally, you might need to contact the email group administrator to see if there have been any changes on their end that could be causing the issue.

I keep marking them as not spam with each and everyone I receive in there but it continues to put everything in there. I've spoken to the administrator and no changes there.Fretters wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2024 10:07 amI just put that into Chat GPT and it offered the below. I assume you've tried the first bit. I'm baffled.

Looks like plenty of people have had similar issues over time with this type of thing with Virgin (assuming that is your provider)ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2024 9:37 amI've recently hit a problem with mail from an email group I'm a member of. I read on a microsoft thread that they had had success by turning off html in outlook
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/out ... 11bdbc25b1
instructions on how to do it in a drop down in here
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/off ... 41f792fefa
The only real advice I could give going forward would be to switch to gmail also, it knocks outlook out of the park and handles spam a lot better

You are right in the assumption that I use Virgin Media. Never registered that it could be the cause of this problem which has only reared its head in the last couple of weeks. I'll have a look at the options.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2024 10:20 amLooks like plenty of people have had similar issues over time with this type of thing with Virgin (assuming that is your provider)

Re: Microsoft Outlook help needed (SPAM)
reading a few forums it seems that things "just occur" and it will often be with one email address and then sometimes just start working again. I'd try the html trick to see if that works. Good luck, very frustrating when stuff like this happensClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2024 10:32 amYou are right in the assumption that I use Virgin Media.
