Re: Proud of the boys
You’re starting to really see the development of the players now. There was some serious graft in there and they stood up to the test. We’d a few chances to sneak all three too.
Reality is, it’s probably a bit too late. But 3 games unbeaten and some bottle shown and things suddenly start to look a bit better, especially with an eye on next season.

Fantastic from Muric, O`Shea` Cullen, Berge etc etc etc ... Playing 12 men and VAR never easy but to do it with just 10 in 2nd half ... Burnley we are falling back in love with you ...

Re: Proud of the boys
Given the circumstances with the appalling decision to give a penalty and the even more scandalous sending off, this is easily our best result this season.

Re: Proud of the boys
A herculean performance, down to 10 men and it seemed as though we were playing 14 or 15 so desperate were the officialls for a Chelsea win
Virtually every player that played a part today should be an easy 9 or 10 on the player ratings imo
We showed fire, commitment and passion today that all to often has been missing this season, keep that up and you just never know !

I can absolutely cope with us not being good enough for the Premier League. I'm a Burnley fan, I don't expect us to be automatically successful. I struggle though when we don't show grit and fight, and too many times this season our heads have dropped. But today was the epitomy of rolling your sleeves up, gritting your teeth and grafting. Chuffed with that extremely deserved point and maybe, just maybe, we can still swing some punches to keep it interesting.

Re: Proud of the boys
Muric, O'Shea and Esteve are looking a real PL trio.
All big physical lads, O'Shea and Esteve have the speed to play with a high line and recover as well - defending very differently to what we've seen under Dyche.
Muric also plays that sweeper role perfectly; doesn't hesitate, commits and has absolutely insane vision & distribution.
I was critical of Dara early season but he's really grown into it - definitely has a higher ceiling than THB does, that's for sure.
Keep these dudes together for as long as we can because they're only gonna get better.

Re: Proud of the boys
Dara O'Shea seems to have gone from being a whipping boy to a crowd favourite. That shows balls and a very strong mind.
Well done, Dara.

Yea, I agree with all the above posts. Really proud of the lads today. If Jay's header had gone in I would have been dancing in the street.

Esteve, when he made that block, fist pump, that will do me.

Indeed an outstanding fighting performance by every player. Great to see. A win Tuesday would make things very interesting.

Re: Proud of the boys
Everyone put in a tremendous shift,
But what a change Muric has brought to our back line. Imperious in his box and his distribution is second to none.
No longer am K trembling when the opposition had a corner or set piece close to our box.
Looks like he has breathed some extra confidence in our defenders as well

Re: Proud of the boys
You could see in the Spurs cup game the defenders felt more confident with Muric behind them. Even Delcroix looked more assured.

Re: Proud of the boys
Just checked out The Shed End.
Vast majority agree it was never a penalty, and never a booking.
Muric said to look Bonnettiesque for his long throws.
Not a lot of praise for Burnley, but mostly because they were too busy slagging off their own, and Poch.
Some said they were lucky to get a point, that might just be the despair kicking in.....we've been there.
A great little run going, we have to stay focused for Wolves, and light a candle that Aro's injury isn't serious.

Re: Proud of the boys
The above sums up this season perfectly in my opinion. I've watched every Burnley game this season thanks to a subscription to 'Fubo TV' and far too many times have I seen players who haven't shown any interest in wearing the Burnley shirt. Wearing the shirt of our beloved little, overachieving club should be a privilege. This begs the question of what has changed in the last three games and what took so long for the 'penny to drop' too realize we're in real danger of relegation? The transformation is really quite astonishing, maybe we've secretly hired Dyche as a 'consultant Yes, I'm a huge Dyche fanPickles wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2024 5:12 pmI can absolutely cope with us not being good enough for the Premier League. May the improvement continue and just, maybe just we can dig ourselves out of this pickle. We'll need some help from others but fingers and toes crossed.

Re: Proud of the boys
An unbelievable effort to get a point today. It's the most pride I have felt for the team this season.
The ref tried his best to give the game to Chelsea but we didn't let that stop us.

We are playing really well. Muric is simply outstanding and Cullen being back we look more solid as a unit .
