Forgetting the fact we are more than likely going down, would you prefer the Championship and ditch all this VAR ********, or stay in the premier league?

VAR is in the championship isn’t it?

I’d prefer the lesser amount of blatant cheating and corruption in the championship as compared to the PL

And not that it will ever happen, but bin VAR altogether. It’s an absolute scourge on the game.

No, the Championship is definitively VAR-free. Which was one of the highlights of last season (well, along with our explosive form.)
To answer the original question, it's actually a tough call. Being in the PL brings razzmatazz, but there is definitely something to be said for being great in the Championship. If you're just average in the Championship, then it would be a different question entirely.

I've said this before, it's a tough choice.

I want to see Burnley playing at highest possible level. Unfortunately the highest level in England is the shitshow that visited the PL.

If we want to see this team grow, and the management team be able to make the choices they want to make, then we really need to stay up this season.

VAR isn't the problem. It's the officials using it that are. VAR is the perfect tool to prevent blatant diving and cheating with retrospective punishments. But it's become accepted that football is almost a non contact sport. The ultimate aim in football is to score goals and it is now easier to score by falling over in the penalty are than actually score in open play.

Having seen some of the garbage that passes for football in the Championship lately, i think even the novelty of pummelling all and sundry, if that was the case, which is certainly not nailed on, would soon pass.

Play as high as we can, even with VAR for me, so PL.

I find this to be a bit of a conundrum for me to be honest.

Yes there's VAR, on the pitch cheating, favouritsm, finance irregularities
on a massive scale in the Prem on the one hand and on the other
the club would, itself, gain fantastic financial benefit and keep us afloat.

The championship brings non of the above and therefore it's what we, as
supporters, deem as important on a personal level.

I worked in Blackburn for 26 years and, besides the jovial banter, it was an
excruciating time to be a Claret. However, once their crown had slipped,
so to speak, it was very clear that the interest in the club started to falter
quite markedly. The legacy of that successful time is that there is a large number
of fans, especially the younger ones at the time, that experienced and grew up in
that era of top quality players and football and aren't now easily accepting of the lower standard now on show.

Is that a danger that we face ? Would the occasional visit to the championship
not be good for us in this regard ? Keep the fan's feet on the ground so to speak.

A delicate balance.
