Re: Everton
Hi NewClaret,
Thank you. I remember them having to see Richarlison very quickly in summer 2022.
I'm certainly not defending them but they were obliged to respect contracts or have a firesale that summer and go down.
They have two or three main assets from what I can see: Pickford, Branthwaite and Onana. Mykolenko and Dwight could fetch reasonable fees.

Re: Everton
Obviously need to take those salary lists with a massive pinch of salt, but what a gig Andy Lonergan has had for the past four or five years.
Re: Everton
The deluded Evertonians will still hold up posters and banners blaming everyone but themselves and their egotistical desire to be regarded as a still relevant top tier club. The new stadium was always a millstone, Liverpool acknowledged Anfield was special so stayed and improved, Everton should have realised they are the smaller club so should have developed Goodison or built a less glamorous stadium elsewhere without Liverpool losing their heritage site status.

Not sure why you think they're the good guys.
Re: Everton
Who said they were good guys? Just acknowledged the importance of Anfield and the cost of a new stadium. Also the housing around Anfield is very low quality, some people might have been happy to take the money and run.

Re: Everton
My fiend lives in Anfield - the quality of his house is excellent, but it's worth nothing.

Was it two sisters that held them up for years by refusing to sell? I bet they made plenty of money on their house in the end.
