If he can't hack playing 10 minutes in the cold then he's in the wrong country.
Whilst this is true, the other poster also made a fair point. I remember Dyche being very reluctant to change things in a position like that because it can be difficult to get up to speed.
It was a silly change that night but Tresor didn't do himself any favours.

He's not who you want to bring on to defend a lead, either.

He hacked it, he just didn't play well in it.
Did any other subs play well that night?

If your kompany he is!! Last 5 minutes against Luton and not been seen since.
Of some of the bad substitutions kompany has made this season that has to he up there!
Closely followed by bringing zaroury on 1-0 up at home to West Ham to mark kudus

If the deal to sign him has actually been triggered, surely now is the time to give him another go in his favoured position?
Season is over and we may as well try and get a tune out of him or get him in the shop window. No point whatsoever playing the likes of Assignon and Fofana now.

No sign of him again yesterday. We had 23 players warming up on the pitch before the game. The starting eleven, the nine subs plus Hjalmar Ekdal, Han-Noah Massengo and Charlie Casper.

Hopefully this confirms that weve managed to escape the deal. If so there'd be very little point him continuing at the club until summer.

It’s frustrating not knowing the position with Tresor . If we had any halfway decent local journalism surely VK could be asked straight up ..”have we signed him or not ?”.

It is a bit mad that we have no idea if weve basically spent 20 million on a player we dont use and Kompany/the club have managed to avoid any questioning about it

He was on the bench against Chelsea and wolves though wasn’t he, had we escaped the deal why suddenly yesterday would we decide to take him out the squad completely

This has proved an ill-conceived signing that has not worked out at all. Given how little he's been used post-Christmas, you'd have to assume he's not our player for next season.
There is absolutely a player in Tresor, but both he and Amdouni are players of a similar ilk, and it was asking too much of them both to adapt their styles of play to this league overnight. Both have looked lightweight and lacking in an understanding of the level of defensive attention that is required to succeed in the Premier League.

We talk a lot about the merits of defensive skills in flair attackers, we see plenty without it (Anthony etc), and what a shame it is that we don’t get any media coverage of us, or player / manager interviews on these topics, which leaves a vacuum.
Is it needed? Do the club feel it is needed? Is this why he doesn’t play a single minute (even when we are desperate)? Has he signed? If so on what terms if we drop?
Social media tittle tattle on this fills that vacuum and starts its own narrative. Personally feel it is very naive from VK and the club to ignore this. Imagine a 1 hour interview every month on deep topics of interest on the club’s social media channels, “Inside The Manager’s Mind, with Vincent Kompany”, hosted by a top ex pro / manager. Perfect way to get fans on board and supportive, ending rumour where legally possible. Could do others with players talking about their earlier lives, and the challenges they faced. Really, in all these regards, we get nothing, it is a vacuum. One that helps our rivals.

I've no idea to be honest. The club don't readily give out information unfortunately, for example they reported Beyer's was just a loan in summer 2022 and we didn't even confirm Obafemi's permanent signing last summer at all. When Trésor signed I think we just said it was a straight loan but it was reported at the time, from reliable sources, that there was an obligation to buy.

It was fairly widely reported in the local press that we had signed him after 5 appearances. Must have got their info from somewhere?

Can’t understand from genks point of view why they would let their best player from last season leave on a straight loan without any guarantee of a perm fee at the end. Swansea only let obafemi leave on loan knowing it would be made a perm move

The complete ostracising from the first team leads me to think there’s an appearance level that needs to be triggered in order for the transfer to go through. I haven’t got a clue though. It might just be that he’s nowhere near.

Zaroury, Obafemi and Twine have all been given loan opportunities at Champ level and been found lacking though. So they either need to be or they may be playing at a lower level. Benson will be looking for an out certainly.

I wouldn’t file all these together, Zaroury got a 3 game ban and couldn’t get back in, Oba and Twine have both had injury issues and all 3 have got a loan to get some football.
Benny - bizarre as we absolutely are not a worse team with him in.
Tresor - again he seems miles off but he most probably needs a run of games to find his way, if that doesn’t happen now we are all but down I’d assume off. He’s got Turkey on loan written all over him. (Assuming we have to buy)
Weghorst - different circumstances and lots of water under this bridge already, but you have to level some degree of man management failure at VK/club when this lad is out on loan and we can’t hit a barn door some games.

I think the implication here is that Tresor is a flair so there's a legitimate debate about whether he needs to do the defensive side of the game. Personally, I think that's a debate that was been and gone. In the age of multi-functional players, attackers need to work without the ball effectively just as full backs need to be able to have an attacking threat and/or defenders generally need to be comfortable in possession and passing the ball progressively. I can only think of two teams in the league where it appears there is an indulgence of players not doing the defensive basics and they are the two biggest underachievers in the league, Chelsea and Man United. Whether attackers are asked primarily to track back, or press aggressively depends on tactics and how much a team is able to get on the front foot but even this morning I listened to someone describe Havertz as the ideal centre forward for Arsenal because of how much defensive work he does for the team.
That's the modern game and it reflects the trend in other sports too (rugby has increasingly blurred the expectations between forwards and backs in broken play, and the days of a cricket team being 5 specialist batters, a specialist wicket keeper and 4 specialist bowlers, plus a single all rounder are long gone).
It might be that in other leagues the demand on players to do both sides of the game is less pronounced and that has been a factor that has slowed Tresor and Amdouni's transition. Either way it's a huge lesson learned that anyone we sign to play in the front 4 has to understand that demand from day one. They can't just want to get on the ball.

Tresor will not be signing - he needed to make 15 appearances to have the option to buy triggered - in addition he had a clause which allowed him to make the decision to sign or not subject to 1 or 2 details . neither is happening he will leave in summer

Why would genk allow their best player leave on loan without a guarantee of a perm deal, let alone let the player decide if he moves or not, total nonsense

Because we've paid for the loan.
No idea if we are signing him or not, but what is very obvious that bringing someone on after 85 minutes and expecting them to do anything is bloody stupid.

The perm deal quoted to be around 15m, even if we paid a loan fee of say 2m or 3m based on his usage and performance, does he go back to genk and have clubs chucking 15m to sign him. It makes no sense for them to section any loan deal without the guarantee of the perm deal

Tresor will not be signing - he needed to make 15 appearances to have the option to buy triggered - in addition he had a clause which allowed him to make the decision to sign or not subject to 1 or 2 details . neither is happening he will leave in summer
Sauce?

Could’ve been his farewell cameo today.
