Having read the report and looked at the team we had out that day just reading the names brings to mind “battlers” and
“get stuck in”. Unfortunately I don’t see enough of that in our current squad.

That partly obscured Everton programme from the 1954/55 season at the top of the preview holds special memories for me........It was, I think, the very first time I'd seen Jimmy Mac play in a Burnley shirt away from Turf Moor.
Dad had said before the game to "take note of our player in the No.8 shirt", which later became confusing for a young un since, on this occasion, Mac played in the unfamiliar No.10 shirt. Anyway there was no doubting who scored the penalty to equalise for us in the second half.....It was that great man Jimmy Mac to round off a special day.
