Toffees vs Clarets Match Thread
Re: Toffees vs Clarets Match Thread
Id rather have a keeper that has 4 10 out of 10 performances and a 5 than a keeper that has 4 5 out of 10 performances and a 10.

Sums up our season. About the only way Everton could score
What is wrong with us Totally dominant and Muric does that. I am in shock

Based on Trafford, muric is allowed 28 premier league games of being **** poor before Trafford comes back into the team

The Muric risk. We get great distribution and the ability to take one of their presses out of the game, but this is what will happen now and again with his style, shocked at the surprise. Would still prefer him over Trafford every game - he's been MOM the last few.
Can't blame the relegation on this moment in a 38 game season.

Some wet wipes on here. Not like we've just gone 4 games unbeaten and actually looked like a team again.
Maybe if he was playing from the start we'd have more points.

You've got to laugh. We do entertain and give other fans something to smile about.

It's part of the way Muric plays, it will happen from time to time, bit still prefer him just for how quick he distributed the ball and his confidence in the air.
Everton are going to be tough to get through now, but we absolutely must just go for it. We have zero to lose at this point.
Dyche will park the bus and our lads have to get it done.

He didn't go to clear long he side footed a short pass that wad never on in the first place. Anyway semantics, it was a burnley 45th minute specialRick_Muller wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2024 3:53 pmPassing about at the back, Muric closed down by Calvert Lewin and Muric went to clear long, hit Calvert Lewin and went up and over into the back of the net.

Re: Toffees vs Clarets Match Thread
Can’t believe people are proclaiming that’s us now relegated due to the Muric error. We’ve been relegated since about October.
We’ve won 4 games in 31 games and would need to win another 4 in the remaining 7, including today, and then still hope for a points deduction to on or two clubs above us, again. We’re on 19 points because we’re a million miles from being good enough due to a shocking inability to defend at crucial moments in games. Better team today but we’ve created nothing and inevitably gifted a really crap team a goal at a perfect moment.

We are in this.gifted them a goal from another mistake we just can't seem to stop making them Esteve bundled onto an Everton player and gave away a free kick on the edge of our box. However we can come back and the way we are playing lately I believe we will come back. Don't give up hop on this game

Last weekend we were 1-0 down with ten men, the second half was excellent.
We have played well enough to get something out of this, a bit of faith is required.

It was a stupid mistake but look at the results since he came back in . Can still win this if we go at them . Fofana or Foster off early in the second half and get Benson or Vitinho to run at them .

Just like I’ve defended Trafford all season, Muric has been fantastic up until that enormous error, but he’s been a breath of fresh air since returning to the side and will provide more positives than negatives today and the rest of the season. Just hope he doesn’t end up getting the same abuse afforded to Trafford.

There much of a muchness. The only difference is Muric can drop an absolute a howler.
Let’s hope Muric has a good second half and contributes to getting us back in it.

Big error by Muric but I think it's a case of do the positives outweigh the negatives. To some extent I think mistakes and the odd calamity is what you're going to get when a keeper plays the way he does. Providing he isn't making loads of them in my opinion the odd one is forgivable.
I just hope this doesn't affect his confidence for the next half, he looked a confidence keeper to me last year.

Re: Toffees vs Clarets Match Thread
Naivity is the prominent quality of this team and it all stems from Kompany himself.
Today's experiment of playing Foster wide right, Brun wide left and Odobert central is a fools errand. You can swap all 3 of them to a position they're more accustomed to.
Everton sit in formation now. We must get Foster back up front and Benson on the right sooner rather than later - it's our best chance of getting back into this.

Re: Toffees vs Clarets Match Thread
If the players have been boosted by our keepers recall, as we suspect, then now they need to give themselves a dusting down and get out there and rescue him. We will find out second half how much the players want this.
Need to go all in now, get more direct, using pace behind will lead to Tarks walking…. We can turn this around, come on Burnley!

So Trafford away at palace playing that pass to brownhill isn’t a howler? Still say Tarks should have been off. Would have been if he played for us. 2 deliberate professional fouls. Both the clearest yellows you will ever see I like Tarks but seriously

Re: Toffees vs Clarets Match Thread
We really are our own worst enemies. Last week with a few seconds of the half left Fofana concedes possession cheaply when he could have held the ball or drawn a foul. And then this. Where’s the game management and intelligence.
This game was there for the taking, and still is. But I suspect we won’t get much of a sniff now with Everton playing in a low block.
