The last time we were in the Championship it was just as exciting, so why wouldn’t you renew?

We youngsters. My mother's first year was 1947-48, though not with a season ticket.

Unfortunately she isn't fit enough to sit out in the cold any more, so we have hospitality seats in the Longside - unlike a previous poster, we have always found the service to be good (apart from the half time tea and coffee) but the food to be a little disappointing this season. And of course the price going up, and this year we have to use real cash not shares credit! Still, you can't take it with you.

I reckon, from a selfish point of view, that disabled pensioners who have been going on for 76 years ought to get a hospitality discount. I don't think the club agrees. Still, here's hoping!

FYI, I went on my account last night to renew my dad’s ticket - he pays up front. I pay by DD and my ticket was showing up as able to renew. When I went back on today to check, it’s no longer possible to renew but when I go onto purchase history it shows the season ticket as purchased so seemingly has been automatically renewed.
Mines showing the same only problem is the other tickets i pay for on direct debit are not showing in purchase history

Yes you can- I've done it a few times this season (with a heavy heart when I can't make it). You do it through the app, the club resell your ticket and credit your account (not the full amount but still worth it). I recently worked out how to do it for my kids seats too so last week against Wolves the club were able to resell our three seats together.

My dad's first season ticket was 1947/48 - he didn't have one in the previous season because he hadn't been demobbed but was home in time for the cup run. Because he wasn't a season ticket holder, he had to beg, steal or borrow to get a cup final ticket. My poor auntie had to miss out although she was with us in 1962.

I've an old friend who got his first ever season ticket in 1947/48 and has had one ever since. Alas, this season is going to be his last.

A hardware shop on Coal Clough Lane used to be an agent for the club and sold them.
I've had one for 50 years,51 this next season.

Yes, it’s done via the Ticket Exchange. You pay an admin fee to the club for the exchange, so you don’t quite get back the true cost of the ticket. It’s then paid in club credits which I think you can spend in the shop, deduct from away tickets or put towards a cost reduction of a future ST.

I've just had my cancellation confirmation email which I'm actually quite upset about. But our gas and electric contract came to and end, increasing our direct debit by £100 and childcare costs have gone up substantially too, so something had to give :-(

Really gutted.

Just to follow up on the other replies you've had about the ticket exchange. This season the system has worked well because all home games were sold out at the beginning of the season, meaning that invariably there was demand for the ticket exchange. Next season I imagine the club will look to sell every ticket before they open up sales on the exchange. One would imagine the demand will be down, at least at the beginning of the season, so it's not a guarantee that you'll be able to re-sell your ticket.

Sorry to hear Fretters. I've renewed but it was the first time I can remember where I've had to think about it. Our outgoings are just off the scale at the moment, not least our mortgage, gas/electric etc. Tough times for a lot of people at the moment.

Had the same email. I'm sure the "Thank you for your support" sign off is standard, but it felt passive aggressive

If you're in a grumpy mood, everything is "passive aggressive" - whether they talk to you or not. It's a modern way of deflecting all blame for everything onto someone else.

I wouldn't recognise it if they were. Is it something you can do on purpose?

And shouldn't this be on the dull man thread?

Ours looked to have renewed. I noticed we have some credit due to ticket exchange. Does anyone know if that credit can go towards a season ticket or has it to be spent in the shop? If it’s the shop is the credit already on your season ticket card.

Definitely. Our 5 year fixed mortgage ends next year and I'm dreading it as we're currently on 1.8%

I called in the Ticket Office today to check if the ticket exchange credit could be used towards the new season ticket,
No problem at all, was sorted out quickly. My new direct debit payment was set up by a very helpful lady.
I am looking forward to next season :D

Season ticket sales generally decline after a relegation. Last season must have been the only time they didn't. 15,000 crowds next season?

People will be hoping/expecting a repeat of 22/23 season

One of my friends called in at the ticket office yesterday to enquire about getting a season ticket for his grandson and was told to put his name on the waiting list and was told that there are about 2500 on the list

No wonder they put the prices up if they think the 2500 on the list for Premier league STs will still want one.

Looks like mine has auto-renewed. I miss quite a few games but someone usually has the ticket to take a kid on. Others return the favour to me.

Yes well myself and all the guys I go to the games with (6 in total) have renewed. We are looking forward to next season with no VAR, no Prima Donnas ,and lets face it the refereeing can't be any worse surely. We are looking forward to some good lancashire derby matches and me personlly hoping Huddersfield stay up looking forward to two matches against them.

That’s encouraging, if true.

I think you might be surprised quickenthetempo. Personally I prefer Championship football to Premier League (where we’re obviously less competitive, suffer VAR, have less games and rarely play midweek/under the lights - were it not for the obvious financial consequences I’d happily never play in it again).

IF that’s true that there’s 2.5k on the waiting list, I’d expect the balance that do decide to take it up this year to cover any not renewing.

I think once you’ve been on a waiting list you’re usually keen to take up the option when it comes along. The savings are huge.

Just been to the ticket office and renewed 2 for next year
I asked how many had renewed he said about 12000 and about 2000 on waiting list
I said I was surprised how many had already renewed he said that includes all who pay by DD it's up to them to cancel before 2nd May
I asked if we were getting new cards and he said probably because they are changing systems to ticket master
What could go wrong!

Got mine renewed already. Can't resist a good early bird deal.

So they haven't got a clue yet really! Will be interesting to see how many on the waiting list still want one. I'd wager a good chunk of them will be fairweather/premier league fans.

There could be quite a few who pay by DD who cancel after the 19th and the club won't know until may 2nd how many are available.
I can't see all on the waiting list still wanting one once we are relegated
I expect decent crowds at the beginning hoping for a repeat of the last championship season.
Could be an interesting few months

Just a reminder that the renewal deadline is the 19th April.
