Been made redundant at The Times - must admit to being stunned at this news

Perhaps should have stayed at the Telegraph.

Is he from Burnley?

No idea where he's from to be honest but he sounds too posh to be from Burnley :D

Wonder if he could still get an Athletic move or as that horse bolted?

I've invited him to write for Up the Clarets while he's waiting for his next opportunity - but being serious, I'd expect a queue for him.

Everton will probably give him a job after his recent cheerleading for them over the points deductions.

He’s joined the literally dozens of football reporters from local papers who have been potted in recent months by their newspaper/digital employers

That is a bit of a surprise. He's got a full page column in today's print edition.

Become a parody of himself recently. Spouts meaningless buzzwords rather than providing any real insight.

Embarrassing over the flag on the England shirt too.

It says a lot about the printed media if he is being made redundant. Times are changing.

Henry Winter was sat behind me and my nephew for the 2009 League Cup semi final against Spurs. His report used our reactions (nephew in tears) as part of his match report. Something along the lines of 'the father consoling his tearful son.. brave Burnley, etc..' Still have the report.

Used to like him at The Telegraph, but not really seen anything he's done since he left.

Born in London apparently. I had a connection to Burnley in my mind, but not so
