Tonights football 11-4-24

Post by Tricky Trevor » Thu Apr 11, 2024 8:06 pm

I’m going with Bayer vWHU.
Tella on bench for Leverkusen. Cornet on bench for Irons.

Paqueta booked and misses second leg.
West Ham should have fetched their own ball. They can’t get a hold of the match ball.

Resting quite a few regulars on the bench: Salah, Diaz, Robertson, Szoboszlai. T-A-A on the bench too looking for a run out.
Few changes for Jurgen at HT I think.

Tella on for Bayer.
Villa 2 up but Lille have one disallowed for offside by VAR. Didn’t show any lines but without a really tight call.

Just come on & Ive had a bet on him scoring, much better goal scorer than any of the others they have upfront. Cant see Liverpool getting level in this though.

Why do teams make so many changes in important games, play your best eleven and make changes later in the game if the scoreline allows.

This could absolutely kill Liverpool this season, they've been iffy for a few weeks by their standards and this has been woeful

Looks like Liverpool have run out of steam at the worst possible time. Think they've missed Jota and probably starting to miss Trents creativity a bit.

Tella and Leverkusen might be on for the double, what a move that was for him

Oh yes, what a stat that is! Imagine the difference he makes to our team this season but never mind, delighted that he's made such a good move

Bad night for English clubs all round.
Villa cough 1 up after 2-0 lead.
L’pool stuffed.
WHU defended stoutly for 82 mins then conceded 2 from corners to make next week very difficult.
If they all go out I think that will be the end of ManUres dreams of sneaking into the CL with a 6th place finish.

Yes. In yesterdays papers it said it is between England and Germany for which gets their 6th place finisher into the CL. It also said Germany were favourites.

Shouldn't that be for a 5th place finish?

Make that the treble. They are in the German cup final against a 3rd division side

Had I know it was going to one of the best European nights in Anfield's history I would have paid for BT sport for the night :D

2nd division, but the point remains. There's some big names in that league, doesn't feel that long ago Schalke were in the semi final of the Champions League.

Attendances are bonkers too. Hertha regularly get 60k plus on, Hamburg 55k

Some really big ones. Dusseldorf, Hannover & Nurnberg to add to that list.

Even Bundesliga 3 has some big clubs. Dresden average just under 30k and 1860 Munich are in it.

Took my father in law to watch Eintracht a couple of weeks ago. Incredible atmosphere. He's a United fan and said he'd not seen anything like it since the dicey days of the Stretford End in the 80s in the UK.

I was debating getting a season ticket next year but they are almost impossible to get hold of.
