Offside.
Offside.
The Daily Express has an article about the Premier League bringing in semi-automated offside technology from next season. Apparently the Leagues longest ever offside VAR check lasted five minutes when Jay Rodriguez 's goal against Bournemouth was disallowed last October. Yes they really spent that long trying to find a way to cancel the goal.

I wish they'd make their decisions on foot positions only.

They didn't even need VAR for Jay's offside.redwasp wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 5:13 pmThe Daily Express has an article about the Premier League bringing in semi-automated offside technology from next season. I thought that was how they were going, with chips in both boots.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 7:17 pmI wish they'd make their decisions on foot positions only.
Re: Offside.
We’ve had some poor / god awful decisions against us this year, Jays offisde at Bournemouth isn’t one of them.
I applaud semi automated offsides if it speeds the game up. Having watched the champions league this week better officials both on the pitch and at VAR who don’t want to try be perfect or the centre of attention would also be a huge help.

So definitely foot positions only for offsides?
Couldn't VAR do that without chips?
I prefer Saute potatoes meself, but would they fit in he boots?
Re: Offside.
Many players already have chips on their shoulders.
