If Leicester are the best the league has to offer we should be walking the league at a canter next year.

Been to the KP stadium at least 7 times this season-they are not the best side in the Division. They have no strike force and cannot impose their domination in gamesNewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 8:57 pmIf Leicester are the best the league has to offer we should be walking the league at a canter next year.

Re: Plymouth v Leicester
in the last few weeks I've watched Leeds, Ipswich, Leicester and Saints and haven't been remotely impressed by any of them, but then I have to try and remind myself we drew at Rotherham, lost a home to QPR etc. I expect us to be strong next season assuming we drop and I expect whoever goes up will struggle (based on the small sample size I've seen)Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 8:57 pmIf Leicester are the best the league has to offer we should be walking the league at a canter next year.

The quality in passing and athleticism is just leaps and bounds ahead of this.
In all seriousness based on watching Ipswich, Southampton and Leeds we really should blow away the championship next season

The thing that makes me laugh is how the 'experts' kept telling us how Leicester, Leeds and Ipswich were ahead of where Burnley were the previous season, inferring that all of them would beat our points total. Now what do we find? Leeds and Ipswich can't equal our total and Leicester have to win all their remaining games, including tonight's game, to beat our 101.

Re: Plymouth v Leicester
They may be top of the table right now but their form is shocking (20th in the division when I looked after recent games). They have just surrendered an 11 point lead. Thats not the behaviour of a "top of the division" teamTheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 9:46 pmYet they are top of the division, which makes them the, er, best side in the division.

This result could also make the Leicester / Rovers clash on the final day of the season an absolutely must win for both teams, though I fear that at least 2 out of Birmingham, Sheff W and Huddersfield will fail to make up the 4 points needed to climb above them
That Sunderland result was crucial.

It's mad that they can still get to 100 points. I'm surprised more teams don't reach that mark when it's possible to do it with 10 losses

On paper they have arguably the strongest squad to play in that league since the creation of the Prem, nuts how much of a mess they are making of it.
Re: Plymouth v Leicester
I'm not sure. I think their forward options are bang average. We had goal threats from all angles, they've hardly got any at the moment

Re: Plymouth v Leicester
Earlier this season, Michael Duff, when still manager at Swansea, said that Leicester were a much better side than we were last season. At the time, the points they'd won from the games they'd played suggested they would get beyond our 101, at one point even 120 looked likely.
But this Leicester team has lost ten games now that's the same number as we lost in the two Sean Dyche promotion seasons put together and way more than the three we lost last season. They can still get 100 but I've seen them recently in games against Bristol City and now Plymouth and they look anything but a good side. I think they've won just three of the last ten. Having said that, I've seen both Ipswich and Leeds recently and they've not looked that good either. As much as I don't like Leeds, I do hope they find some good form and a good result tomorrow.

I've watched quite a lot of the games this season and Ipswich and Leeds look the best two as they don't mess about. They attack with pace and Ipswich take shots from all over the place that keep hitting the back of the net. Leicester fans now want rid of the manager as he only has one plan, sideways and backwards , and makes like for like changes. They had another attacker on the bench tonight but he didn't bring him on even though they were chasing the game. I could do with Ipswich winning it as I backed them at the start of the season .

Re: Plymouth v Leicester
I always find myself hoping Leicester lose for some reason but logically the worst thing for us would be them staying down and Ipswich going up.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 11:04 pmEarlier this season, Michael Duff, when still manager at Swansea, said that Leicester were a much better side than we were last season. Leicester and Leeds going up would leave us with a much easier route to promotion next season.

I can not stand those plastic clapper things at the KP. Terrible experience. Can't clap and roar, but can bang some plastic / folded cardboard. As plastic as it gets.
You can't polish a t*rd, and that certainly isn't covering it in glitter.
Still hope they humiliate our neighbours on the last day.

Re: Plymouth v Leicester
What has gone wrong at Leicester in the last 10 games?
They were flying and looked like possibly reaching 110 points.

Re: Plymouth v Leicester
I have watched far more Championship games than Premier League games this season.
It pains me to say it but the best team in the last few months have been Leeds.
I am just hoping that they can hammer Blackburn today and then completely fall apart for the last few games of the season.
Is that too much to ask for?

Won’t Leicester have a points deduction whatever league they’re in? Also they will have to get rid of the majority of their squad to cut costs. I think they’re knackered if they stay down.

I imagine theyl have a huge budget and will get some high earners out of the door. I'm not up to dat on Ipswich's finances but it seems they've just ridden the crest of a wave this season against the odds financially. I think they'll struggle to stay up there next season.

I think the EFL said they won't impose a points deduction as it's outside their jurisdiction but it seems a deduction will be waiting for them next time they get to the PL. Could be wrong though!

Re: Plymouth v Leicester
I really hope Plymouth stay up. It's a great weekend away trip and although it can be quite hostile to away fans there, that's because they are proper fans who support their club in numbers and it really matters to them. Having said that it's very much the same at Ipswich who are definitely the surprise package in the top six and have legions of loyal fans. With 28/30000 on each game in the PL they won't be the poor relations some other clubs have been if they do go up. Good luck to both imo, because both are "proper clubs" I feel.
