He did but don’t know what that has to do with the muric Trafford debate
Just saying if he scores that doubt Muric would be getting all the hate.

JBL also guilty of same thing.

Didn’t attend today but from what I’ve seen ( and that was a shocking howler) no you do not drop him. We play better as a team with him in. If he does something similar again it needs looking at. I don’t think he will in in the next few games. We know he’s good enough for the Championship too.

Oh right yeah, should have been 2 up at half time and potential penalty decision that I’ve not seen back yet but friend of mine said on replay if the ref gives a pen then VAR doesn’t overturn it

IMO Muric is the better 'keeper for the style Kompany wants to play He's also better at catching a high ball in traffic. Trafford may very well improve as he fills out and gains more confidence.

Muric has been a lot better than Trafford already and won us more points in fewer games.

Anyone clamouring for Trafford back in needs their head examining.

I didn’t see you get hysterical when Trafford was making all his errors.
I’m a Burnley fan, not a Muric or Trafford fan, I want the starting goalkeeper to play well. It doesn’t matter who it is, errors like that will be called out for what they are. If Trafford made the same errors, I’d react the same way, he just didn’t.

So many literally abused Trafford and now defend Muric. It’s hypocrisy at its absolute finest.

However, they are both Burnley players so it’s about time we all support whoever is in goal.
Spot on. This team Muric v team Trafford thing is embarrassing.

Indeed

From what I can remember they are level on two howlers each.

Lobbed from half way line and other one jumping into an attacker from cross.

Trolls lol you’re full of crap, you were quite happy to start thread after thread criticising Trafford for far less but you want to sweep clown goalkeeping under the rug because it’s Muric, you’d have been happy as pig sh!t if Trafford did that. Complete agenda driven hypocritical bs
You honestly have the mental capacity and temperament of an 8 year old girl.

Wrong and wrong and wrong.

I said it was a poor mistake, and reflected it in the ratings.

If I thought Traff would give us a better chance of winning I'd want him in the net - what is so hard to comprehend?

Simple muric has 23 more games to go before there should even be a conversation about Trafford coming back in the side

His central point is accurate. You have agenda against Traffford and you couldn't wait to criticise him. You've campaigned against Trafford more than anyone on here.

Stole from X but this is brilliant
Think that will be the last game for Muric, he makes way too many saves, catches it too often and has a presence as a goalkeeper.

His good distribution, despite his risks and errors are the final straw for me.

Get Trafford back in so we can go down properly.

Bet Vinny is thinking of dropping Fofana and sticking him up front. Wouldn’t mind that actually.

Lobbed from the half way line

- he was correctly positioned for the way we play ( Muric does the same)

Jumping into the attacker

- yes it was a poor decision

They are different to two mistakes that come from over confidence in your ball playing abilities

Regardless, they are different keepers with different strengths - neither is good enough for the PL - the fault lies with VK

For the 10,000th time

My 'agenda' is wanting players to play that:

- Did nothing to be warranted being dropped in the first place

- Are suited for our play style to maximise our chances of winning games of football

Hence why I wanted Muric as I believed that he fit both of the above criteria.

Even after the howler today, I still believe that we have our best chance of winning with him in net.

If I see evidence otherwise then I will change my tune. It's that simple.

Don't have a problem with wanting Muric back in. I did. You were relentless in your criticism of Trafford. Relentless. Your tone would've been far different had Trafford, or Traff, made the error that Muric made today.

The one last week was kind of like a goalkeeper blunder when trying to do your play out from the back thing. This weeks blunder takes some watching in the same way that when a player picks up a really bad injury and you struggle to watch it. It's just painful beyond words.

I find it crazy how 90% of this board is based on kompany decision making and selections and yet when he finally changes the keeper and we have our best run of results (all be it not much to shout about) people can’t understand how important muric is

Because I was frustrated watching us serve up that dross week in week out when I thought we had a bloke on the bench that would give us a better chance of winning a game?

I gave kudos to Traff for good performances - I just thought they were too few and far between.

It really is this simple.

I blame social media/sky sports sort of hyper analysis of moments rather than the overall performance and IMO has lead people to almost be incapable to seeing the bigger picture and instead resorting to these sort of tit for tat bickering 'gotcha' moments.

It's boring and very predictable.

Of course, if Muric throws one in every single week and ends up being a net negative I'll be the first calling for Trafford/another goalie but until then I'll keep backing him.

I wanted Muric to replace Trafford. I actually still think he’s the better all round goalkeeper - he had 2 outstanding games immediately after getting back in.

That being said, in the last two games Muric has made mistakes far worse than Trafford has all season.

I think Kompany will revert to Trafford after today’s howler, and you can’t really blame him if he does.

Whether he’s meant to do it or not, the fact he did it saved a goal so gained us 2 points.

‘Isn’t that what he’s supposed to do’ we had 28 games of posters going on and on about Trafford being a better shot stopper when making supposedly class saves, isn’t that what he’s supposed to do.

Muric made a save against Brentford that was nominated for save of the month and according to posters it’s a regulation save, had Trafford of saved that it would of been ‘that’s why ues in over muric’

What a pile of utter tosh, you mean Muric should be dropped because he’s made two awful amateur level mistakes that have cost us points.

Mistakes so bad, you won’t see another like them all season unless Muric does it again.

Weird Burnley fans can’t accept they were harsh on Trafford after seeing how poor Muric is.

That’s exactly what it would is. If everyone looked at the comparison in our tempo of play since muric has been in goal to the first 28 game games there is no comparison.

It does fall on kompany for dropping the championship keeper of the season for a keeper who had a half decent season in league 1 and thinking it would work

No need to be (vaguely) offensive... not that I care if you are.
But the point is that the number of games played doesn't necessarily define a player's ability.

When Muric is on it I would agree, but howler aside, his distribution was crap today as well.

He’s a proper Jekyll and Hyde footballer - up there with the best when he’s on form, but prone to the most ridiculous gaffes when he isn’t.

Frustrating.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Muric is dropped

No need to be (vaguely) offensive... not that I care if you are.
But the point is that the number of games played doesn't necessarily define a player's ability.
Based on Trafford had 28 games to show if he was up to the premier league so based on that muric should be given the same amount of games.

Muric should have started the season and had the errors piled up and his passing stats dropped and the overall play dropped then Trafford comes in, you won’t ever see a team again get promoted to the premier league and drop their keeper who was in team of the year unless it’s a loan signing they don’t sign perm

No way at all muric should he dropped
You also realise this “better run” we’ve been on has been against 0 sides in the top 6.

Muric has to be dropped, he’s nowhere near good enough, this leagues hard enough without having a keeper prone to an absolute clanger.

Like I said you won’t see another PL goalkeeper make those same 2 mistakes, it’s awful, like really awful.

I hope some of you cope with life better than you do with football setbacks

Defeat at football when not capable of doing anything abot it is just about the ultimate frustration for many.
Often resulting in a huge loss of testosterone.
Please show some pity ;)

Traffords record against teams out of the top 6 18 games 14 points
Muric record against teams out of the top 6 5 games 6 points

Sheffield uniteds keeper made the exact same ‘error’ as muric did against Everton so that’s another current prem keeper making the exact same mistake

You know, I totally agree that Muric should have started the season.
That's it, nothing else. ;)

Please stop trying so hard to defend the indefensible. It looks very silly.

Didn’t Brighton concede a similar goal today to us last week?

Can’t excuse Murics mistake today though it is awful, both are as a consequence of the way we play although todays leans more towards lack of concentration.

Go on then, drop him so we can continue on the trajectory towards survival that we most definitely were not on before his return to the team.

I have to say that as an ex goalkeeper I would expect to be dropped for the 2 errors
