Re: Booing the knee
At the start of the season the Premier League announced that on a number of occasions throughout the season players would take the knee and they have. I assume the next one will be on the final game day.

No I think it was when Ian Wright said he loved Stan Ternent.
The sneaky left bomb bigots thought we can't have that. A person of colour loving an evil white fella.
Kneel before Zod!

Re: Booing the knee
I'm going to hazard a guess here that the original press release released may not have been the final press release on the subject.

Re: Booing the knee
I get lost with this every time it comes up, whilst I agree it is very decisive subject and wish we could find another way of making an anti racism message and wouldn’t take the knee myself because of it’s links to BLM. I don’t get why people can’t see that it is no longer done in support of BLM and unfortunately when it is booed it only serves to strengthen the incorrect pre conceived notion that Burnley supporters are fundamentally racist.
The PFA did originally start this in conjunction with BLM of which there is no doubt the link provided by Rowls is from 2019/2020 for example, they have since distanced them selves from that movement. This is purely now a player led anti racist gesture and nothing to do with BLM at all I just wish some people could see this and understand the damage they are doing to our Club before they start booing it, it isn’t hard just ignore it.

It isn't. But it's pretty clear and cut in what it says, isn't it?Darnhill Claret wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 12:23 amI'm going to hazard a guess here that the original press release released may not have been the final press release on the subject.
The point me and others are making is that the claim that taking the knee "was never in support of BLM" is a big fat lie.
It's a whooping big porker and it's there for everybody to see.

Re: Booing the knee
No one in this thread has said ‘it was never in support of BLM.’ It clearly was linked to them at the very start. Now it isn’t.

Re: Booing the knee
Because the gesture is irrevocably linked to BLM because it is *their* gesture.JarrowClaret wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 12:35 amI get lost with this every time it comes up, whilst I agree it is very decisive subject and wish we could find another way of making an anti racism message and wouldn’t take the knee myself because of it’s links to BLM. Because the PFA confirmed they were making the BLM gesture in a direct show if support of BLM.
The idea that it is "no longer" a BLM gesture is for the fairies.
When Paolo Di Canio claims his Nazi salutes "aren't Nazi salutes" people give him the digs abuse he deserves. When the PFA try to lie and say they didn't support BLM they deserve to have their lies exposed.
You say they have "distanced" themselves from the movement. They have done no such thing. They have made a single weaselly statement where they tried to obfuscate the matter. It doesn't distance then from BLM at all.
They should have released a press statement saying, "We messed up. BLM are an atrocious bunch. We got caught up in mass hysteria.". But they didn't.

But that argument has been made many times on here.

Just before you do go, copy and paste that long message again and post the press release. Thanks
