The contract was one of the strangest decisions made.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 10:50 amCouldn't agree more, by then he'd become a head coach with the owners bringing in players (I was told from a list Mike Rigg had left). It was pointless but they then gave him a new five year deal.

How many of those did Dyche sign? I was talking about recruitment.dandeclaret wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 10:27 amIs Branthwaite a dour old pro now at 21?
Is McNeill a dour old pro at 24? Mykolenko at 24? Beto at 26? Garner at 23? Onana at 22?
I mean, there’s loads you can dislike about Dyche’s approach….. but bringing the balance makes your points a bit more valid.

Think we had crossed posts - I was responding to Charlieinnewmexico.

My thoughts exactly. I actually toyed with not renewing ... and considering that I had season tickets some years in the 4th division that is saying something. (Incidentally - I stopped getting them in the 4th because the queue to get in at the season ticket turnstile was longer than at the cash gates!!).
Two years on and basically we are no better - we have had two major rebuilds and I think we will need a third this summer.

Re: 2 years without Dyche.
The Dyche v Kompany debate will never end. Dyche was one of the best managers this clubb has ever had. Kompany may yet turn out to be better in the future but has work to do to catch up with Dyche.
It is too early for the awards ceremony. I suppose we should all wish VK well in his quest to become this clubs best ever manager
