My advice is to look at the ratings of the balanced posters, who you have respect for and ignore the ones you think are morons.
My comment was just an observation about the ratings in general. I was just surprised at how high the ratings were on average for this game compared to for example the Brighton game who were far superior opposition.
Didn't expect it to cause such a reaction tbh.

Muric 7 Brilliant but too many mistakes on the ball so not giving him higher.

Assignon 8 goal and assist and improved throughout
O'Shea 5 thought both centre backs got absolutely bullied time and time again.
Esteve 4 worst game for the club
Taylor 5 sloppy mistake gave them a glimmer of hope and was poor in possession.

Vitinho 5 He isn't very good
Berge 9 A few levels above anything else on the pitch. Majestic
Cullen 7 Tidy and hard working
JBL 7 works hard and as always gets into goal scoring positions. Another goal however fortunate.

Odobert 6 don't like him in this position. I think his biggest attributes are crossing and beating people 1v1. This restricts him from doing either
Foster 5 Dreadful first half, started to look more like himself 2nd but again looked to tire so much that he got cramp.

Jbg 8 Great impact and still has quality in that left foot.
Brownhill 7. Vk finally seemed to get his subs right when ahead. I Think Brownhills best position is a sort of pressing defensive 10 and he did a good job from there today

Amdouni N/A

Muric 9 would have been 10 but for two sloppy passes second half, some absolute worldie saves to keep us in it.
Assignon 7 could be 10 on some parts could be 4 on others!
Taylor 6
Esteve 8 gets better every week
O'Shea 7
Cullen 7
Berge 8
JBL 6 quiet bar the goal
Odobert 6 good run for first goal otherwise quiet and weak.
Vitinho 6 he isn't a winger
Foster 7

JBG 8
Brownhill 7 brought some energy at a needed time
Amdouni & Fofana hard to judge off 5-10 mins.

Muric 7 - Typical Muric performance. Some top saves, some fantastic distribution and then three horror passes that on another day could have been costly.
Assignon 8 - Played a part in their goal, but otherwise solid and his most effective game going forward.
Taylor 7 - The other culprit in their goal, but otherwise solid.
O’Shea 8 - One of his good games. Some crucial blocks and interceptions.
Esteve 8 - Had the task of handling McBurnie and was largely the winner. Good in possession too.
Berge 9 - Best player on the pitch.
Cullen 7 - Neat and tidy throughout and kept the ball ticking over.
Odobert 7 - Got bullied early on, but thought he grew into the game and caused them real problems.
Brun Larsen 7 - Quietly effective.
Foster 8 - Real handful. Looked closer to his pre-Christmas best and took his goal well.

Brownhill 7 - Busy and helped see out the win.
JBG 8 - Great finish and was unlucky not to grab another brace against the Blades.

You can only beat what’s in front of you and, after shaky starts to both halves, we did it comfortably. Lovely to see them win away in emphatic fashion.

Missed Vitinho, but probably says something about his performance - 6.

Player rating threads are probably my favourite of the week, i only get to see televised games and the highlights but you get to see the general consensus of how individuals played and I appreciate the more detailed analysis from those who make the effort.

The bickering is also quite amusing too 👍🏼

Muric 7 (Some top saves, but -1 for some disastrous passes which could have really cost us on another day)
Assignon 7 ((Excellent much of the time, including for the third goal, but sold himself so bloody cheaply to let Utd score. That's poor)
O'Shea 7
Esteve 8
Taylor 6
Cullen 8
Berge 8 (Didn't seem to want to shoot and score against his ex mates!)
Oderbert 5
Brun Larson 7
Vitihno 7 (Miles better playing as a dedicated forward)
Foster 7

JBG 7
Brownhill 7

Could easily have been 2 down to an absolutely dreadful team before we scored when we were actually much the better side and that's been an issue all season. Muric did his stuff and we got our just desserts. Sheffield really are awful and although we're still going down, at least we've shown some real fight and we've put a bad team to the sword. Happy enough.

Muric 7 - some decent saves, probably expected to make most of them. Stupid mistakes again.
Assignon 8 probably his bast game for us
O'Shea 8 these lads are a decent partnership
Esteve 8
Taylor 6 didn't get involved as much as usual, solid enough.
Cullen 7 usual metronome play
Berge 8 really good game, needs to improve his confidence in front of goal (MOM)
Oderbert 5 possibly his worst game, looked better when moved out wide after brownhill came on
Brun Larson 7 good again, I'd like to keep him

Brownhill 7 looks hungry for his spot back. Been great coming off the bench.
JBG 7 sign him up for next year

Rest NA

Muric 7 Kept us in it first half with two crucial saves at 0-0. Then another fantastic save when they had a ten minute spell at the start of the second half. No massive Rick today, but some of his passing from the back would have been punished by a better team.
Assignon 7 Good game going forward, arguably at fault with the goal, but kept BbD quiet for the most part.
O'Shea 7 Solid without being spectacular
Esteve 7 struggled a bit with McBurnie, decent game.
Taylor 6 Should have done better in the build up to the goal, crossing into the box not great, but, solid effort from Charlie as always.
Vitinho 6 Not much of threat but tracked back and worked hard.
Cullen 7 Efficient , energetic and a great foil for Berge
Berge 8 Ran the game, passed well did the dirty stuff as well. Not sure why he doesn’t shoot more often.
Oderbert 6 Couple of good runs and picks the ball up well, but still not sure about him in this position
Bruno Larsen 7 Scruffy goal, decent threat going forward.
Foster 6 largely isolated, but ran the channels and took his goal well

JBG 7 a goal and hit the post in a decent cameo
Brownhill 7 work rate high, good game management

Decent performance overall, against a shocking Sheffield team, having said that they had the better chances prior to the first goal, after that apart from an early second half onslaught, very poor and look like a team going down.

Muric 9 - impeccable apart from a couple of very loose passes, kept us in it, and given our record when behind, won us 3 points :D
Assignon 8 - vital goal and assist with a few more good attacking moments
Taylor 7 - solid at the back but delivery was poor
Esteve 6 - struggled in the first half and gave it away badly a few times but grew into it
O’Shea 8 - used his pace to get his defence out of trouble on two or three occasions
Cullen 7 - wonderful display of calm control
Berge 9 MOM - ran the game, ensured we set up camp in their half and they couldn’t get it off him
Odobert 6 - guilty of too much trickery on the edge of our box and wasn’t in the game as much as he is on the wing
Brun Larsen 7 - luck with the goal and was tidy without being too threatening
Vitinho 7 - good hustle but little end product that I can recall
Foster 8 - dangerous back in his position, 3 shots in a first half we edged, then a nice calm goal

Brownhill 7 - gave us control back after their resurgence
Gudmundsson 8 - a bit baffling he has played so little after the words from Kompany last year saying how vital he is

What a lovely afternoon, nice to have one “home” game in a season that I can walk to from my house, but Burnley wins in the city are a rarity. The first half was nervy but we edged it on shots and possession, while territory was heavily in our favour. The defence was wobbly (ours, theirs was atrocious) and without doubt we have played better and lost. But it was a fine performance given the circumstances.

To close the gap on Luton by 3 points and 7 goals was beyond my hopes. We now have half a chance. We will probably need to win either at Man Utd or Spurs, we are kicking ourselves for all those leads tossed and ref robberies, not least the refs against Forest and Luton that would and should have us now sitting above both. But if we drop we need to do it with momentum like we did last time under Jackson, and then come again in August.

Odobert might not have been at his best but 5s?

He turned the game in our favour with the great run for the first goal, picking it up off the defence and running all the way up.
I wish Berge would do this. He's capable.

There was a guy two rows behind me who was giving Odobert dogs abuse early in the game. At one point he was fouled and the guy was repeatedly screaming “get up you soft c***”.

Thought he played pretty well after recovering from a start where he was bullied a bit.

I didn't give him a 5. But to explain on behalf of others, he is so wasteful with the ball in that crucial position. And that first goal he did take the space well, but was the only time all game. And he hit a crap shot that came off the Sheff Utd players back into the feet of JBL. A calamity goal.

He is being played out of position. That was rectified when Josh came on and did well. And then Amdouni came on and Josh moved left wing. It is mind blowing bad the decisions VK still makes

From tv
Muric 8 my mom because he kept us in the game with his four or five very good saves
Assignon 7 + 1 for the goal, but he did make too many mistakes
O’Shea 7 good in the air, but not convinced about his positional play
Esteve 7 steady away
Taylor 6 had a bad game today
Vitinho 6 industrious but ineffective
Cullen 7 did well what he does well
Berger 8 best outfield player on the pitch by far
Larsen 7 good performance, though he does tire
Odobert 6 plays out of position in this set up
Foster 7 +1 for the goal

Brownhill 7 could have scored
JBG 7 still could be a good player for us next season

Very good three points away from home against a poor Blades team, though Muric kept us in it with some key saves. I would be great to have a strong finish to the season.

He passed the ball straight to one of theirs. Still in the penalty area. The player cut in and shot from 10 yards. Took a super save to keep it out.

Muric 9 - One poor pass, but the rest of the game he was very very good. Some excellent saves and distribution. commanded that area even when they kept launching them in and trying to rattle him.
Assignon 8 - Goal and an assist. Got caught a couple of times defensively, but overall was solid and exploited their left side ruthlessly.
Taylor 6 - Charlie just wasn;t on it today, did make a couple of decent blocks, but wasn;t great.
Esteve 7 Was caught out a few times in the first half, but overall solid.
O'Shea 8 - Similar to Esteve, but the amount of headers he wins is brilliant, absolutely dominates the air at the back, but also made a couple of crucial interceptions yesterday.
Cullen 8 - Really making the midfield tick, absolutely ALWAYS shows for the ball and gives an option to team mates.
Berge 8 - Brilliant player, but his reluctance to shoot when the space opens up is frustrating. He ended up messing up some good areas second half because of this and laying it off poorly.
JBL 7 Popped up with the goal and although a bit quiet he doing well on the left for us.
Odobert 6 - Not convinced this is his best position behind the striker as it's so hard to create space in those areas and he isn't the strongest on or off the ball.
Vitinho 6 - Always tries, but nothing came off for him yesterday really. Gave the ball away too easily many times first half with sloppy passes or bac touches.
Foster 7 - Wasn't really in the game until he scored. Then he seemed to grow in confidence and started looking a little more like the Foster we have een hoping for. Such a shame he got injured.

JBG 8 - Class. two belting strikes.
Brownhill 7 - Thought he livened us up again when he came on.

Muric 8 - That's gone a long way to restoring faith in him. His passing wasn't as good as normal and he did gift away one chance which he then stopped but he kept is in it the first 30 mins and prevented a potential capitulation after we conceded.
Assignon 7 - weird to rate him so low for a (deflected) goal and (very good) assist but I thought defensively he was very absent, gave them some joy down the sides.
O’Shea 7 - Won a lot and played a few neat passes, did get bullied once and switched off at times but solid enough.
Esteve 6. About as average a performance as you'll see. Possibly should bump it up 1 as I seem to recall he made a good block or header second half, but overall he felt the weaker of the pair.
Taylor 6. Debated a 5 but felt harsh. Love Taylor but he was defensively hit-miss and for all his high up play achieved very little, they seemed happy to let him cross knowing it wouldn't result in anything. He's not the player he was 4 years ago, I'd give him another year all the same though.
Vitinho 6- he didn't have much direct impact but I thought he was very important in our attacking shape especially first half. His movement and ability to switch between positions is very very good, even if he didn't impact things a ton his ability to switch and cover helps others impact things. Understood the sub and it worked but I'd have probably kept him on.
Berge 9. (MOTM). Superb performance, he sold Larsen badly on a pass that really was a simple ball in for him and would likely have resulted in a goal, if not for that it'd be 10. He's such a commanding midfielder.
Cullen 8. Debated a 9 as well very good performance ran stuff excellently and also showed good ability to drift out right on attack at times. Early season woes seem well behind him.
Bruun Larsen 7. He's got talent and a dash of luck. Not electric but very effective, I still think he'd be better central than Odobert. Closest we have to a Tella replacement, less pace, more two footed, I hope we make him permanent.
Odobert 6. The run that led to the first goal bumps him up a lot. He was anonymous besides that, very much a passenger and lucky to get so much match time. Think he needs a break.
Foster 7- took his goal very well, glad he got one. Much better orthodox striker than drifting out as a wide forward.

Brownhill 7- Unlucky not to start over Odobert I felt. He's not the most flashy dynamic CAM we have but he knits us together (similar to my view of Vitinho, but Im not sure both at once would work). Underrated player.
Gudmundsson 7- Classy goal, deserved that 2nd, he's just a level above our other wingers in terms of pure technique, ability and nous, had he not had so many injuries I think he'd have left us for a better side a few years ago. Even with no pace he can bring a lot to the side and proved last year he can play about 5 roles in a Kompany team. Wish he was 4-5 years younger.

I missed the Booboo .....what did he do?
He passed the ball to the opposition to give them a shooting chance. He then saved the shot !

His what I would call traditional goalkeeping was outstanding but three times he put us in trouble playing out. One of the three came two mins after they’d scored when he passed it straight to that bloke born in Stoke who changed his name because someone told him he was from Chile. Thankfully he saved the shot.

I can only remember the one time he put us in trouble actively and followed up the rebound, 2 or 3 where he gave away possession a bit cheaply but nothing really came of either. But his passing wasn't what I've expected from him. Do think he's still dealing with some nerves after his 2 successive howlers, even last year he was an unpredictable character mentally, the halftime sub comes to mind.

Muric still hit some absolute pearlers in the first half out to the wings, first time with pin point accuracy.

It's things like that are the difference. Just allows us to play much further up the pitch.

If Muric was perfect .:: he would still be playing for Man City … he has a casual complacency about him that is causing problems and against a better team we would have been punished again on Saturday … Having said that he is by far our best keeper and as Coolclaret says his distribution has regenerated this side and was a major reason we came up last season as champions .. If we can somehow stop these errors in his game we have one hell of a keeper here

The tempo of our game just moves so much quicker with Muric in goal, despite having to accept some "rough" with the smooth at times.
