From a decent stream.

Muric 8
Assignon 7
Esteve 7
O'Shea 7
Taylor 6
Vitinho 6
Cullen 7
Berge 8
Bruun Larsen 7
Odobert 6
Foster 6

Brownhill 6
Gudmundsson 8

Good win, albeit against the worst side in the league. I hope I'm wrong in that I still think we'll go down, but at least we've given ourselves a chance and are making a fist of it.

Muric 7 Brilliant but too many mistakes on the ball so not giving him higher.

Assignon 8 goal and assist and improved throughout
O'Shea 5 thought both centre backs got absolutely bullied time and time again.
Esteve 4 worst game for the club
Taylor 5 sloppy mistake gave them a glimmer of hope and was poor in possession.

Vitinho 5 He isn't very good
Berge 9 A few levels above anything else on the pitch. Majestic
Cullen 7 Tidy and hard working
JBL 7 works hard and as always gets into goal scoring positions. Another goal however fortunate.

Odobert 6 don't like him in this position. I think his biggest attributes are crossing and beating people 1v1. This restricts him from doing either
Foster 5 Dreadful first half, started to look more like himself 2nd but again looked to tire so much that he got cramp.

Jbg 8 Great impact and still has quality in that left foot.
Brownhill 7. Vk finally seemed to get his subs right when ahead. I Think Brownhills best position is a sort of pressing defensive 10 and he did a good job from there today

Unfortunately never get chance to do ratings but Berge was one of THE BEST performances in a clarets shirt,

Just solid, metronomic, aware and proactive. More than anything had a point to prove.

9.5 out of 10 for me.

Muric 8 MOM - Should be a nine but a couple of sloppy moments cost him a point, he has to be the MOM, without him we don't win the match.
Assignon 7 - Going forward he's decent but diving in for their goal shows his defensive weakness. Just stand up, you've done the hard work!!!
O 'Shea 8 - Excellent, his head was a magnet for the ball for most of the afternoon, possibly slightly at fault for the early McBurnie chance.
Esteve 7 - Another decent game, not quite as good as O'Shea
Taylor 6 - Mistake for their goal and a few sloppy passes
Vitinho 6 - Gave us balance but not involved enough.
Cullen 8 - At the centre of everything.
Berge 8 - A class act who makes everything look so easy.
Bruun Larsen 7 - A goal and worked hard, his defensive effort shut down Bogle time and again
Foster 6 - Still nowhere near his form from the beginning of the season but a lovely finish.
Odobert 6 - Some nice link play but isn't physically strong enough for the role he was asked to play

Subs:
Brownhill 7 - Gives the midfield energy both pressing and off the ball, this is where he shone last season.
Gudmundsson 7 - Wonderful finish and so unlucky not to add to it.

Muric - 8 Great saves and overall superb. A few dodgy passes in there to knock him down from a 9. They get punished against better teams.

Assignon - 8 superb from him today, just occasionally lacks the basics to drop him down from a 9.
O'Shea - 6 got bullied quite a bit but settled.
Esteve - 6 same as O'Shea
Taylor - 6 steady

Vit - 5 anonymous
Berge - 9* so comfortable
Cullen - 8 also very comfortable
JBL - 7 scored a screamer

Odobert - 6 largely anonymous
Foster - 7 took his goal well and battled.

JBG - 8 Great finish and defensive work
Brownhill - 7 settled the team further

From a good stream:

Muric 7 - great saves, but could have easily given away two goals
Assignon 9 - goal and assist, the first Burnley defender to do both in a PL game since Danny Fox in February 2010 (thanks BBC)
O 'Shea 8
Esteve 7
Taylor 6 Uncharacteristic mistake
Vitinho 6
Cullen 8 - if we're to come back up, he's vital
Berge 9 - our best CM since Defour
JBL 7 - our joint top scorer, I really like him
Foster 6 - (5 first half, 7 second half)
Odebert 7 - played a major part in our vital first goal

Subs:
Brownhill 7 - much-needed energy, I wish he'd scored that long-ranger
JBG 7 - class, I hope we retain his experience

Special mention to Amdouni who showed some nice touches and worked his backside off to get back and make a vital challenge.

Muric - 8 - a string of impressive saves and at crucial times too.

Assignon - 7 - maybe could have stayed on his feet for their goal but overall impressive
O'Shea - 7
Esteve - 7
Taylor - 7

Berge - 9 - head and shoulders above anyone on that field
Cullen - 8
Vitinho - 5
JBL - 6

Foster 6
Odobert - 5

Brownhill - 6
JBG - 8 - great goal and unlucky not to have two.

Job done. Good subs as well today. I've criticized VK for his subs before so only fair he gets full credit today.

Strange game, could have won 6-1 but also could have been behind at times but for Muric.

Whichever league we are in I think we have a great base of Muric, Esteve, Ekdal, Cullen and Berge

Thought Berge was the best player on the pitch by a mile today, just wish he'd shoot more!

Muric 8 - few sloppy passes, but a lot of good ones. 4 or 5 crucial saves. Showed big character after last week
Assignon 7.5 - Great energy, but sometimes loses his head
O 'Shea 7 - Did ok, thought Ekdal was extremely unlucky to lose his place
Esteve 7 - Solid again, not as good as last week, but decent
Taylor 6 - Did ok
Vitinho 6 - Worked hard
Cullen 8 - Just love this guy
Berge 9 - Imperious
Bruun Larsen 7 - Scores a lot for a winger.
Foster 6 - Glad he got his goal, was bullied a bit, needs games I suppose. Looked better as a 9
Odobert 6 - Needs to bulk up, gets brushed off the ball far too easily, he is only young though,

Subs:
Brownhill 7 - Half tempted to bring him back in as the 8/10 role
Gudmundsson 8 - Or maybe JBG in that role? I think we are criminally underusing him. Could have scored 3. The save at the end was onside

What a joy to watch us stroke it around at Bramhall Lane, not a good hunting ground for us. We are still in it amazingly. Feel like we could have stayed up fairly easily if we'd bitten the bullet on a few decisions earlier.

O’Shea 6
Esteve 6

Vitinho 4. Looked tired
Cullen 7
Berge 9 MOM superb. Developing into a top PL player
BL 7 fairly quiet but got a vital if fortunate goal
Odobert 6 poor early but got better as they tired
Foster 7 way off his best. Poor touches Nicely taken goal

Brownhill 7
JBG 8 could have had a late hat trick

Funny old game. We always looked the better side but Utd could and should have had 2 goals first half. Don't understand how BBC Final score pundits and Dick Sherwood elsewhere thought they were the better team they weren't. Then we got the luck that has been cruelly deserting us in recent games. Had a good go at messing things up after half time but after Fosters goal it was job done and hope springs eternal.

Muric 8 - Showed lots of character today and fair play but ......
Assignon 7 - Not a fan but played well today and thank goodness someone showed some urgency to drive in instead of fannying around
O 'Shea 7 - Very poor to let Mc Burnie in early on that cld have been fatal but has pace to burn and that got us out of trouble several times.
Esteve 7 A few interesting moments but ultimately part of a defence that only oonceded one and even against Sheff Utd I will take that.
Taylor 6 I posted on FB that VK better put CT in at left back ahead of Vitinho and he nearly made me regret that comment and not one of his better games.
Vitinho 5 Never rated him but a few better performances recently in this sort of position but anonymous today and what a crap header that was!!
Cullen 8 Why hasnt he played all season Vinny?
Berge 9 MOM We all know the law of booing a former player and he more than made them eat their boos!! Majestic.
Bruun Larssen 6 I just dont think left wing is his position and he doesn't skin full backs does he but he does score goals.
Foster 6 Still looking leggy and not at his best especially first half but took his goal well. There is a player there but he's been hiding recently
Odobert 5 Commentator stated that he has started the last 20 games!! Totally not justified. Great for the first goal out of the blue but sadly lacking in this position and needs to be benched or on the left wing.

Subs:
Brownhill 7 Good substitution about 10 minutes too late
Gudmundsson 8 Great substitution obvs

Well the only downside to this game is that we already know we're way better than championship teams, which Sheffield Utd undoubtedly are, so we haven't learned a lot. That said, you can only beat what's in front of you and apart from a couple of early scares and a couple of attempts to gift them goals, we controlled the vast majority of this game and for once we were super-clinical.

Excellent all-round performance and one that should give the lads some confidence for the final few.

Muric 9 one off for a couple of absolutely shocking passes that could easily have gifted them a way back in. Otherwise, he claimed well, distributed well and saved very well - the one from mcatee was a cracker.

Assignon 8 lovely run and finish for his goal, got up and down the line well with seemingly boundless energy. Still acts a bell at times.

O'Shea 8 slotted back in really well, looked very good alongside

Esteve 8 we've got a player here, considering hisbyoung age. If there's one criticism of him all our centre halves it's that they don't always attack the ball and choose to instead let it bounce and get involved in an unnecessary wrestling match.

Taylor 7 played very high-up the pitch, no complaints

Berge 9 showed them exactly what they already knew they were missing. Still tends to turn backwards into trouble too often but that's a minor quibble.

Cullen 8 the neat and tidy player we had in the championship, kept us moving nicely

Bruun-Larsen 7 looked like his shot was deflected but he connected with it well enough again on the volley

Odobert 7 the breakthrough was all about him getting on the ball in the middle and running with it

Foster 8 not a lot was falling for him but this was a fine answer to those who said he was lazy last week. Lovely finish, not an easy one to get the power behind from a static position.

Brownhill 8 gave us the energy, bite and tacticalawaremess we needed at that stage. Two weeks on the bounce he's proved a very good sub.

Gudmundsson 8 lovely finish, could have had more and like Brownhill his awareness and game management were key to us seeing this out.

Proper good day, well done Burnley.

I'm not sure you can compare a goalkeeper to a central midfield playmaker. One is receiving the ball in the middle of the pitch constantly through the game and has to have a 360 degree awareness. The other has the whole game infront of him and not much pressure on the ball. He made 2 or 3 horrific pass outs today which very nearly cost us and against most Premier league teams would have.

Berge was fantastic throughout.

Sorry don't mean to pick you out individually but this is the issue with player ratings. The result is the deciding factor of the ratings not the actual performance.
I thought we were dreadful first half and very lucky to come out infront.

Muric 8 - good display , good saves distributed ok
Assignon 8- nice goal and assist but horribly naive on goal
O 'Shea 7- settled down well
Esteve 7- as per o Shea
Taylor 6 mistake which ultimately led to goal, but good on flanks and a great defensive header . Also had to play v high up pitch .
Vitinho 5 . Ok I suppose , but not really involved
Cullen 7- ticked it over nicely
Berge 8 -excellent but vs one of the worst prem teams in history.
Bruun Larsen 6- has flashes and deflected goal decent instinct
Foster 6- tidy finish , though kept mainly under control
Odobert 6- flatters to deceive ( usually )

Subs:
Brownhill 6 went at it
Gudmundsson 7 - great cameo and goal

A good win albeit against a side so incredibly poor and lacking in confidence, you almost felt sorry for them ,as they made us look fairly decent . The time they gave us on the ball was something else . All felt a bit “ dead rubber” but technically we’re still in it for sure .

Don't mean to pick you out individually but you rate Oli McBurnie so I think we can ignore absolutely any of your opinions.

We won 4-1 today and played very well doing so. Get yourself a life and enjoy your evening.

Mate, you must have better things to do after a 4-1 away win than to be arsed about how other people rated the players' performances today. Or maybe not.

My advice regarding the ratings thread, don't read too much into posters ratings or alternatively don't read the thread if winds you up. Sorted.

My advice is to look at the ratings of the balanced posters, who you have respect for and ignore the ones you think are morons.

From TV unfortunately today. Not sure if these will count or not.

Muric 8
Assignon 8
O’Shea 7
Estève 6
Taylor 6
Vitinho 6
Berge 9
Cullen 7
Larsen 6
Odobert 6
Foster 6

Brownhill 7
Gudmundsson 8

The two subs were brilliant. Experience counts. Good win.
