Looking at some of the videos especially the York game John Francis remains one of my most favourite ever Clarets.

Some great memory joggers above, thanks. Having witnessed all the above promotions my favourite will always be 1972-73 season. my favourite ever team and those players will be my heroes forever. Not only were they talented, professional and tough but they had that blend of flair and determination that is a sure sign of winners. Also the fact that I was 14 years of age and football was a bit more simple in those days meant that watching my heroes on MOTD at places like Sheffield Wednesday, Luton and others was a great experience. Of course we are spoilt nowadays with coverage on Sky Sports in the digital age but I cant imagine the youngsters of today get the same simple enjoyment out of it as we did back then. (unless of course I'm just getting old and nostalgic!

The other great thing about the 72-73 side was they all lived locally. As times passed that happens less and less.

Firstly, I never dreamt I would see us in the Premier League.

However my favourite promotion was Jimmy Mullens from the 4 th division. What a season.

Every game home or away you wondered how many we would win by. If we lost the question was how many we would win at the next game.

I can't remember a time that the fans, the players and the town were more positive ore more together.

The last two, Dyche, promotions have both been magnificent but I am another one who has a special love of that magical 91-92 season. So many unforgettable moments, particularly at the away games, and the return of the big match atmosphere to Turf Moor. In fact I desperately need to get my Micron Video 2 X VHS tape box set transferred onto dvd so I can watch it...it's pure 24 carat video gold, including the sight of Johnny Francis running into my welcoming arms at Carlisle after his lovely curler of a goal there. Went on the train from St Albans for that game...seemed to take forever...but to this day I regret not being able to go to York (doubtless for some pathetic work reason which seemed important at the time !)

To answer the OP, the promotion under Jimmy Mullen out of the 4th division. Heady days after watching years of shite! Even better, was the ability of the fans to sing and clap in time, without resorting to "clap as fast as I can - I reckon it'll sound good". It doesn't, get some rythym!!!!

1972-73. A truly classy team. And that away following at PNE on the last day was the biggest Burnley following (Wembley aside) I've witnessed. The whole of their end and most of both sides.

Logged in to like the above. 81/82 was my first promotion as a 13 year old so memorable. So many good players, Laws, Vince, Phelan, Dobbo, Steven and my all time favourite Billy Hamilton. 92 was my personal fave, took the 4th Div by storm and Jimmy Mullen brought the town back behind the club in my opinion. The suggestion above of a 25 year reunion led out by Jimmy would be just brilliant, though Mick Conroy now lives in Australia so may be tricky getting him involved. CT - any chance the club may get involved in this?

72/73 for me. Although promotion had already been guaranteed, the occasion and celebration at Preston was as good as it gets and if I could 'bottle' one football moment that would probably be it.

Rhythms are patterns of short and long sounds and silences in music. Tempo is how fast or slow the pulse is in a piece of music.

Also, Rhythm Has Your Two Hips Moving is a mnemonic to help you remember how to spell the word rhythm.

I`m on the `P` of `Parts` of `P.S.V. PARTS` on 35 seconds. A wonderful season!!!!! The only negative that season was Cardiff away. A great win but a horrible experience.

I've witnessed a few from 82 onwards, as i was in my youth 91/92 will always be special because it coincided with being let of the leash to go to games on my own with my mates, it was a brilliant season but as a one off feeling the play off win in 2009 in the greatest experience i've ever had as a BFC supporter, plenty of tough lads in tears that day, especially people who are now 40+, they had seen utter bilge from the Clarets for a large part of their lives and the realisation that we had got to the top flight still seemed unbelievable and something that if people uttered when Cotterill was manager would have seen them committed and never released.

72-73 for me. mostly because I saw a lot of games that season. The memories of Preston on the last day, the stuffing of Villa (twice) who were our only threat, if only for a short while. The football that team played was just a joy to watch. Taffy down the wing. Dobo and Flynn in the middle. Fletch and Casper up front. The pitch was littered with real footballers.
I'm sure I would have enjoyed 92, but I had young kids by then and struggled to get to matches.
09 because it was out of the blue and forced me to renew my season ticket after many years away. It won't be going away again.

I can’t say 91/92 really, as I wasn’t into football then, but I still remember the buzz around my primary school at the time. 92/93 was my first proper season watching the Clarets.

Owen Coyle’s promotion was the best, so unexpected and too many highlights - the Cup rubs, Thompsons goal at Reading and a trip to Wembley too. Brilliant.

I was the one who jumped on the `P` of psv Parts in the cricket field stand when Painter scored.

A brilliant season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! York of course was THE memory but there were SO many! "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot!" at Northampton always comes to mind.

Last season just edges '72-'73 for me.
The oldies played beautiful football but were so good it was a two horse race by March.
The sheer tension at the end of last season was amazing. The lateish winner at Brum, the injustice and very late justice at Brighton, the equaliser against Boro all had us chewing our nails. 23 undefeated was truly outstanding under the pressure of a 3 horse race.

At the time the Coyle one was brilliant. Completely unexpected, but we quickly expected anything was possible (which is why we should have seen what was coming). We all believed the hype though, Coyle included.

Have enjoyed all. Winning a title is special. And we were ruthless, especially in the second half.

But for me the second one was the most enjoyable. As unexpected as the first, but we earnt it rather than fluffed it. We were very good to watch up top and at the back. Under Coyle we always expected to throw one in, but under Dyche we had the best blend of both. But the front two of Vokes and Ings after losing Austin was fantastic. Beating Rovers for the first time in years (my lifetime) and ending plenty of other hoodoos. Along with the performance against Forest at home was a joy to watch.

The easter performances topped it all off!

Had to be the escape from the 4th, it feels like the last time I went to every game wondering how many we would win by each week.

A very close 2nd was the first promotion to the premier league. In all my dreams I had never expected us to get to that league.

I've been fortunate to witness all the promotions and each was special. However the 72/73 was something very, very special.If I could only bottle one moment from watching Burnley it would be clinching the title at Deepdale.

Seen every promotion since 1972 /73 season. It will always be 2009 for me though. I never thought I would see my team get to the Premier league in a million years, the joy of that victory over Sheffield United in the play off final will stay with me forever.

Went home and away through that awful period in the 80s and 90s and watched some absolute dross, to be where we are now is dream land stuff.

Without doubt for me it was 72/73. Already promoted when we went to Preston on the last day needing a point to win the championship ahead of QPR. A crowd of over 20k (mainly Burnley) saw the most dreadful game (Preston needed a point to stay up - there was only ever going to be one result) and chaos ensued at the end. The second half (after we equalised an earlier first half goal) was like a gentleman's excuse me, the teams were taking turns at possession with no attempt by either team to score, but it didn't matter, we were back where we belonged at the time, 24 consecutive years in the top flight, two years down and then back up. It felt like 'coming home' (and yes, I was on the pitch at the end with many others after watching the game from a sea of Claret in what was the 'Preston End). Deepdale belonged to Burnley that day and it was brilliant.

I have celebrated 8 promotions.first one was 72/73.
The one promotion season I mostly missed was the 81/82 season as I was mostly stuck in Germany.
That comeback didn't last long either.

For me it has to be,only just,the 91/92 Season.the main reason being,it was my lads first season of regular attendance and it was fantastic to see his excitement of it all.
We both spoke of this recently and he fondly remembers that season but he chose the most recent one over the 91/92 one.But only just.

The first Dyche promotion for me. Completely out of the blue with such a small squad. The win over Derby which stepped it up to a 5 pt gap was a great feeling, followed later by an 8 pt gap after finally, FINALLY! beating that lot in their own back yard.

I've never been as nervous for or since. The second Dyche promotion was barely in doubt, although the Boro game was just too unhealthy until the final minutes.

That run of games looked so tough. Forest derby and rovers and couldve completely blown our season apart. Instead we just destroyed them all.

All promotions are great. I have fond memories of the 4th Division championship season, when claret fans would just turn up (never, ever, use the expression "rock up"

) in various towns and completely take over the place.

But the 13/14 season was something else. I recall watching the highlights of the 3-0 win at Derby away, with Ings superb solo goal and thinking, wow! We do look a bit tasty.

91-92.
It was like we went up two steps at the same time and the whole atmosphere changed.
We went from looking to get out of the basement to looking to step up from mid-tier which, as we all know, we recently managed.
There was a football tournament here yesterday and my son, known as "the soccer kid" and successor to Messi and Ronaldo, scored five goals. After his third, the parents of his team mates were shouting "hat-trick a Burleney" at me. They haven't quite managed to pronounce it yet but they're getting there

91/92 was only my second season as a younger fan and i wasn't 93 allowed to games with going with my uncle or friends so i never saw all the home games.

the Wembley promotions were fantastic but what stands out personally was automatic promotion under Stan and being at a good age to properly appreciate it and DID always stand out as my person favorite even above the recent 2014 promotion.

But what beats that magical 1999/2000 promotion by the clear winner is the winning the league title!

Because if i go back and think of some of the bad seasons... i would never in my imagination dreamed i'd see us win the title and promotion to the premier league.

My first match was in the 91/92 season, but I can't really look at that promotion as I was too young to understand it all.

94 seems tained somewhat despite the day out because of the non entity of the attempt in (then) Division One the season after, and subsequent relegation back to Division Two.

99/00 holds a special place for me as there were so many great memories:

- Glen's goal against Bristol Rovers after Payts had been sent off to win 1-0 - stunning piece of individual skill.
- Ian Wright scoring a late, late winner at home against Notts County.
- Watching the Scunthorpe game on the 'big' screen on the pitch at Turf Moor, with subsequent pitch invasion and people kissing the screen! I also dug up a piece of the Turf and planted it in my Mum and Dad's back garden (bit weird that thinking back).

The three since then are all just amazing, in their own way. 13/14 was totally unexpected, we had just sold Austin and Dyche was not exactly liked after his first half season of pretty rubbish football. Again, memories of that season which just make the hairs stand on end:

- Watching us absolutely demolish Derby County 3-0 away with Danny Ings scoring a fantastic solo goal, and the first time I looked at Scott Arfield and thought "This lad isn't half bad actually...".
- Utter devastation of Nottingham Forest
- Kightly scoring the beauty away at Blackpool to win a crucial game 1-0.
- Arfield getting the equaliser at Watford when down to our bare bones that just meant you KNEW we were going up.
- Barnesy scoring a beautiful, promotion winning goal, against Wigan on the last day.

15/16 was just consistency, a team with an edge, bite and a fantastically solid spine anchored by Barton and Jones - and a 23 game unbeaten run. Great memories again, but I can't put this in the same category as 13/14, or the one I am about to say is my best PURELY because the 'surprise' element wasn't there. I am not suggesting I expected to go up, but we had a pretty big budget and used it well.

08/09 though...What a season. I put aside what happened afterwards with Coyle, that season was absolute magic. I will look back on it for years to come, various games stand out, all with Times Like These by the Foo Fighters providing the backdrop.

- Blake scoring that beautiful goal against Reading when our backs were against the wall and Jensen was on fire in goal.
- Joey Gudjonssen scoring that unbelievable goal against Preston.
- Blake away at Plymouth as the season neared it's end.
- Grezza dispatching those crucial pens on the last day against Bristol City to settle the nerves, and then stepping up in the first leg against Reading after Bikey had an absolute brainfart.
- Pato and Thommo, at the Madejski. Nuff said.

Wembley itself was the best day I have ever had supporting this club. I never ever thought I would see Burnley in the Premier League, and yet it happened. A scorching hot day, a beautiful goal, and a day when the God's shined on us. We deserved the win for sure, but we absolutely should have had a penalty to try and save - it was just our day. I will never forgive what Coyle did, but I will never forget what he also gave us that season. I would like to think that in 10 years time, there might be a similar outcry as there is now for Jimmy Mullen to give him a round of applause for that season - whatever happened next, we cannot forget May 2009.
