I'm sure I read that Stone and Chakwana had been released. If so I can't understand why they are playing ahead of those that are staying

I remember Tom Cleverly being told he wasn’t being retained, he started a college course and carried on training until the end of the season, the next thing he knew he was playing in the FA cup final and got a contract.

I'm guessing that although they've been told they will be released they are still on the books until June or July?Petersa wrote:I'm sure I read that Stone and Chakwana had been released. If so I can't understand why they are playing ahead of those that are staying

Re: Burnley v Blackburn - Lancs Senior Cup
28 mins: Richardson on for Agyei.
Blow for us, he’s been a big threat and had a goal disallowed for offside. Got caught with two bad fouls as he tried to run through their defence.
Tight game but we’ve been the better side so far.

Chakwana on the bench but Stone & Clarke are playing. Clarke is a defender but filling in for us in midfield.Petersa wrote:I'm sure I read that Stone and Chakwana had been released. If so I can't understand why they are playing ahead of those that are staying

No surprise really, they’ve been much the better side since half time.

Been like a different game this half. They’ve overpowered us.

or beaten by a long established Cat 1 set-up with running costs of over £3m a season when we have been Cat 2 for 2 seasons

I blame Jeff Hendrick, us not having the Death Penalty and obviously Brexit.

Is £3m a season too much for us ? Thats a genuine question by the way

Re: Burnley v Blackburn - Lancs Senior Cup
That’s spot on and they have had a really good season in Premier League 2. Who knows how this one might have gone had we had a couple of central midfielders fit and had we not seen Dan Agyei forced off in the first half.Chester Perry wrote:or beaten by a long established Cat 1 set-up when we have been Cat 2 for 2 seasons
Just got more difficult in the second half and in fairness they ultimately deserved to win it. But we played really well in the first half.

We are moving up at academy level. Only had two years at cat 2 level but we will push for cat 1 when we can.randomclaret2 wrote:Is £3m a season too much for us ? Thats a genuine question by the way

Re: Burnley v Blackburn - Lancs Senior Cup
£3m is cutting it fine and they only cut back to that this season - most in the business reckon it should be between £4 - £5m to do it properly and that realistically would be a 10 year commitment before it started producing on a seasonal basisrandomclaret2 wrote:Is £3m a season too much for us ?
