Kept a very average Arsenal side going.
For a marquee signing of his fee I’d expect more both in terms of goals and what he brings elsewhere. Kane for example is superior in almost every aspect of football.

Second only to Callum Wilson for big chances missed, and will be 30 in just over month. Just hasn’t justified the price tag at all in my opinion.

I wouldn’t call being injured all year being a flop.

A hat-trick in the away leg of the Europa league semi final to take you through must pay quite a bit of his fee off?

Good game from him. Needs to show that more often for the money invested in him. And given his age, time is running out for that.

I guess he hasn't been mentioned because no one can spell his name but in terms of % of total budget spent and risk it's got to be Alireza Jahanbakhsh at Brighton.

Record signing at EUR 19m and not an assist or goal to his name in 19 appearances.

Personally I love the guy.

Let's hope he saves it for next season though and not Sunday.

And yet, is level on goals with Aguero with a far less talented midfield behind him. While his all round game isn’t as good as Kane, it’s a bit of a stretch to call him a flop.

Aubameyang ? 29 goals in all comps, only Salah by 2 has scored more Prem goals and he's been a flop

I think given the far more limited resources Arsenal have comparatively, the money expended on Aubameyang will ultimately prove to be a mistake. Much like the new Ozil contract.

Not calling him an outright flop, I’m saying he hasn’t/won’t justify such an enormous investment.

This the same Salah that cost considerably less than him yeah?

So how many goals should he have scored to justify the investment? 35? 40? 45?

Really......

Would want more to his all round game as well, he doesn’t have much else. That being said, 20 big chances missed - only Callum Wilson has more. And he’s 30 years old next month.

Hopefully this will be will the last time I have to say this: I didn’t say he was an outright flop, I said he wasn’t worth what Arsenal invested. This becomes even more apparent given what was said about their transfer budget in January.

You want more to his game than the 98 goals in 144 games for Dortmund, more than his 39 goals in 63 for Arsenal ? you mean like assists ? or do they not count ?

Bit of a flop, to not much to his game, moved on to missed chances and now his age.

Considering the whole point of the thread was "biggest flop of the season" - none of your gripes are relevant but using your claims Lukaku has had a better season ?

He missed loads of opportunities for Dortmund too. They just happen to create an enormous amount in that division, way more than Arsenal. I didn’t “move on” to anything. I stated I didn’t think he was worth what they paid and there are a number of a reasons why I think that. You can choose to agree or disagree, but I’m not saying it for the sake of it.

Anyway, I made it quite clear in my original post that Fred and Anguissa were the flops of the season. The others were just additional mentions.

Can call what I’m saying “gripes” and “guff” as much as you like, but this is a pretty straightforward debate I’m having. Think you need to calm down ;)

Over paid and on this season massively over rated.
Utd are possibly going to have to fund his wages to get rid at a cost of approx £13million...

Plus any mention of Steve McLaren is plain lazy and isn't fair because he's up there EVERY season.
