Hopes for next season
As this season - a strange one to say the least draws to a close. What are your hopes for next season?
For me two things.
Finish higher in the league than this season. (11th or above would be good)
Get to a cup final. Either would do me! League cup or FA Cup.
To see us in a wembley cup final would be truly special. Espcially for those who are still around who can remember the last one or even the one before!

Replicate the second half of this season in both halves of next and I’ll be a happy bunny. Any cup final would be an unexpected bonus.

Done well at Wembley in the play offs but not in Cups. Two defeats in FA cup 1947-alive but not there-my dad was-and 1962 yes i was there and gutted.
Also lost in Freight Rover to Wolves in 1988 and was there for that.
So CFC my wish would be to win the League or FA Cup at Wembley not just get to the Final next season and of course 17th or higher in the League, but would be happy with 17th and a trophy.

Survive much easier, and I think we’d all enjoy a cup run however we’ve seen no such thing under dyche, I think a stronger squad is required before we can think about this. So a good summer first of all!
Re: Hopes for next season
Buy a couple of players with real quality that get you out of your seat.
Behind the scenes continue to improve our youth setup and scouting network.
Finish higher than this season.
Have a good cup run

- Signings that improve the first 11, specifically in central midfield and at right back.
- Defour and Brady to stay fit and contribute.
- No significant departures
- Actively attempting to trim the deadwood sat on the edge of the squad, permanently (I.e, Wells).
- Having ‘a go’ in at least one of the Cups.

Re: Hopes for next season
An end to jobs for the boys...
Defour to remain fit for a full season
Buying a strong creative midfielder if Defour isn’t fit in pre season that improves the midfield
Buying a holding midfielder better than Cork or Westwood
Keeping Pope, play him in the cups and to push Tom for his place
Adding youth to the squad
Getting the subs on time to influence games
Ability to change formation in games
Playing better football
Someone to challenge Wood for his starting place when he plays like a duck egg

Re: Hopes for next season
Like many others:
(1) higher league table finish
(2) move on players like Wells, Hart etc and free up squad space and money for transfers/wages
(3) get in a seriously good CM player to help us be stronger there as it’s currently a weak link
(4) get a young right sided fullback/wingback and blood them in like we did Charlie Taylor
(5) keep hold of those players we want to keep hold of- unless the offers are so good that we can’t turn them or the player makes it so clear that they don’t want to be here anymore
(6) cup run- I’ve forgotten what they are like!
Not much to ask for is it?

I reckon we’d have given the FA Cup a good go last season given our league position but drawing City away ****** on those particular chips.

Re: Hopes for next season
I'd like Europa again. Had a great time in Athens. Or at least finish in the single numbers.
A couple of really exciting players coming in, to add real quality.
A good run in the FA CUP (including rovers at home and absolutely smashing them).
Better facilities in the CFS or plans to replace it.
An improved scouting network.

Re: Hopes for next season
Don’t sign any cr@p “good lads” like Jonathon Hogg.
Don’t get knocked out of the cup by a Burton Albion level football club.
Don’t lose 5-1 at home to Everton / 3-1 at home to Crystal Palace.
Don’t get relegated.
Did I miss anything?
EDIT: 3-1 at home to Crystal Palace. Genuinely forgot we scored a goal in that one.

Re: Hopes for next season
a much better midfield is the only thing I hope for, that will allow us to ply better football which will lead to us being even more competitive - it's the only area of the team that requires attention

Re: Hopes for next season
Seriously though, I reckon mid table and have a go in the Cups is the best we can hope for. I fancy the likes of Everton, Wolves and Leicester to be stronger next season. Staying in the Prem will get boring very quickly if 17th is our only intention, no reason why we can't have more of a go in the Cups.

Survival.
Drove past a load of Cardiff coaches on the way home down the M6 and couldn't help but reflect that I felt so much happier after watching my team lose, than they were having won at MUFC.
It's a funny old game

Stay in the Prem & get a really good cup run going.
And Ash to REALLY start upsetting the Big Boys.

To have a better, more skillful and improved squad. We cannot fail in the the transfer window ( again) otherwise next season will be a long hard slog.

Add 2-3 quality players to the starting XI that will enable us to retain the ball better and add pace to the team. We have enough quality to stay up as long as we don't have a disastrous start to the season again. It would be nice to be a comfortable as the likes of West Ham and Bournemouth were this season, for example.

SD to remain at the club.
A good preseason with everyone fit.
Vyagra to play his way into contention.
Defour and Brady back to their best, injury free for 12 months.
JBG to not pick up any niggles.
McNeil to continue improving.
Pope to remain at the club.
Sign a couple of 1st teamers and a couple of prospects.
Retain premier league status.
