MIGHTY CLARETS versus couldn'tbeArsed

Post by IanMcL » Sun May 12, 2019 12:25 pm

On my way and at Keele Services, near Stoke.
Sun shining squad at full strength. Just right for their holiday!

Big match, in that we deserve to finish higher and above Newcastle and Southampton. We also owe Arsenal several, largely thanks to the prem conspiracy. Should be no issues like that, today, as Arsenal have secured their place in Europe.

Madge is a true pro and fired up ready to get us girding our loins.

Come on you Mighty Clarets

A good solid performance to finish the season would be nice.

What a boring lineup. Should be starting Peter Crouch in goal and Long up front ffs

For the opposition, Wood and Barnes is the correct choice.

I hope so, very happy to see him on the bench. After all he has done for us through the years he certainly deserves a chance to receive the appreciation of the fans if he is leaving us. I don't think we have had an official announcement regarding his future, but if he is happy to stay and he still feels up for it then I would keep him.

Finding a new left back who can hit the ground running is going to be very difficult in the next window.

I can only come up with Greg Taylor ( who would need a year ), Daley Sinkgraven ( who needs to get back up to speed after his knee injury, although he looked okay against Spurs ), Jonas Knudsen ( as a cross our fingers and hope for the best cheap option ) or shifting Bardsley to left back and bringing in a right back.

Manager made it very clear that Ward is 'out of contract'.
When asked about Crouch, "we are talking to him".

Ward was brilliant. Pity about his injury.

As for replacement, don't we have this lad Benson?

Up the Clarets.

Watching from Sun lounger in Cyprus Vydra to get a hat trick. All in injury time. All handballs.

Benson is a midfielder, unless we are going full Euro and turning him into a full back. We have Ali Koiki who is a left back, but I don't think he is ready yet. He did ok at Swindon, but it is a big jump between League 2 and the Premier League. I suspect a loan to a League 1 or Championship club is probably next on his play sheet.

Good job it's last game of the season.
Not even sure if they carry cards on into next season.

All yellow cards reset but think a suspension foe a red would carry over. Wasnt a booking but also wasnt a penalty

I don't think they do. But I think a red card carries over a 1 game suspension for the following season.
