No, but they'll probably sack him around November time.

Gotten rid of a world class manager and replaced him with a PR stunt and the exact same problem has manifested.... But they are way worse, they are gonna struggle next season!

He'll get the bullet, but hopefully not before he's p1ssed a couple of hundred million of their money down the khazi.

His appointment sums up Woodward. There was no need to give him the job full time when they did. Now they’ve backed themselves into a corner.

He’s massively out of his depth.

There is absolutely no doubt that Dyche is by far a better manager than Solskjaer. You just have to compare their records.

Only in football would you give a novice the reigns of a billion pound plus business. The appointment made no sense whatsoever

When he took over they were 11 points behind 4th. They finished 5 points behind 4th.

Since he took over only Citeh and Liverpool have won more points. United have won 40 points, Arsenal won 36 points, Chelsea 35 points and Tottenham 32 points. And their managers did that with their own squads, OGS is doing this with Mourinho's squad.

If their recent form continues into next season then yes, there would be a reasonable basis to fire him, but he was given the job with no expectation of qualifying for the Champions League and he actually got them pretty close for a while. I think it'd be pretty ridiculous to fire him without actually giving him the chance to win anything.

They looked like a complete shambles on MOTD last night. Pogba arguing with a fan, De Gea looking like
he'd rather be anywhere else, they've made yet another bollock-drop with OGS's appointment.

Fabulous, ain't it......?

I predict Ole will be spending his Christmas with his family in Norway having lost his job in the run up to the January transfer window.

He won’t last. Big job, big expectations, too many player egos. There are some good players there without a doubt but no cohesion. Lifting players when the chips are down is a harder job as he found at Cardiff.

Agree with this. He started off well and they tailed off but when he gets his own squad who knows.

He looked like a broken man after that shambles yesterday. United look set for a long period in the wilderness, whatever they choose to do.

Manu went through the same phase after Busby.

Years in the wilderness, lots of good manager failed, even Alex Furguson was up for the chop before a 3rd round success as Notts Forest.

Now they have sacked 2 managers with great European success pedigrees plus a good English manager (at the time).

Replaced them with someone with zitch on his CV - and a top class assistant.

IMO never thought he was the right man. He papered over the cracks. If United had stuck with Mourinho they'd have as a minimum finished in the top 4. Very, very big job ahead at United. Be interesting to see where they are come October of November but I think they'll be a lot of changes.

First task is to get as much ad he can for Pogba and rebuild. It would not harm to lose two thirds of the squad, take a breather and develop again. The squad is born of several managers with different ideas which clash.

Agree, they probably would have finished higher - OGS first few fixtures were perfect for a good start

I've said a few times, it's going to take at least 5 transfer windows for Utd to get anywhere near City, they have to give him time. A new manager would have to take 6 months to realise hes inherited a bag of ****, at least Ole has got the message.
As bad as they've been this season, and they have been shocking, they still finished 9pts clear of 7th.

Manchester United are in true dire straights in terms of the top 6. Become an old boys club where they appoint a Glazer yes-man with a CV not fit to manage Burnley let alone Manchester United, and stuck in the past with pointless revisionism over the class of ‘92. Instead of even trying to shift sub-par players, they tied them down to big money contracts.

Their entire squad needs overhauling. Will take many years and probably hundreds of millions, but they’re lightyears behind Liverpool and City, as the table did well to demonstrate.

United need to accept it's going to take time to sort the mess out and if it means a few seasons outside the top 4 so be it. Since Fergus left all they've done is panic and look for the short term fix.

biggest recent mistake was binning Moyes, given time i think he would have sorted it out, but no, the saps were too quick to sack him.
Massive and idiotic decision, because it was united it simply wouldnt do to lose a few, so off he goes because the media are hovering like vultures and ridiculing the club. they can chuck many millions at this to solve it, but it will take ages to even get remotely near their rivals.

Really hope he bins Lingard, though, who is a massive knob.

Think he deserves time. Will take a good while to sort it out there. A season or two perhaps. But was surprised to see how negative he was yesterday.

As much as I dont like United, they are a huge club and he should be saying as much. Maybe he doesnt want to put pressure on himself but he sounds like Moyes at Sunderland.

He needs to get rid of Jones, Smalling, Fellaini, Matic, Hererra, Martial Sanchez and Pogba.

Theyre a shambles at the minute and need to rebuild. Theyre in danger of going back to where they were pre fergie.

But with backing and patience no reason he cant turn it round.

Theyve tried big names.

If he plays youth. The fans will back him and the team.

It's a club that needs a director making decisions on transfers. Squad needs a massive overhaul but there's no sign that Solskjaer's the guy to trust, or that he'll be managing the squad beyond Xmas.
