Can’t see the point of some coming on here and asking these questions about a place when they have already booked to go there.

Try the footgolf nearby. A good laugh with a couple of beers thrown in with the price.

Re: Coral Bay, Pathos
Pathos itself is a great holiday. Coral Bay is a bit more Benidorm but ok.
If you like the driving, a trip around the mountains and into Niccossia is well worth while. Theres a Monastery, the names lost at the moment, that's also a good port of call.

Yes I,ve been it's about 25 mins bus ride from centre of Paphos with a regular service. Typical resort with a main strip, bars & restaurants and a steepish hill down to the beach. Coral Bay beach itself has sunbede/parasols for hire (8 euros) but is quite rocky in the water. You may want to hire a car if your going for 2 weeks to explore other parts of the island - because 2 weeks in Coral Bay for me would be too samey every day. Car hire is relatively cheap, roads are quiet & they drive on same side as here in U.K. Cypriot people are very friendly but there is a definite Russian influence there - get yourself into centre of Paphos for Shopping Mall, Harbour/Promenade walk & good restaurants/bars. Coral Bay is about 45 mins from airport, Supermarkets are close by as is the beach. Enjoy !!.

Isn't it a roundabout way of telling people where you are going. Be asking for bars to watch the football in next.South West Claret. wrote:Can’t see the point of some coming on here and asking these questions about a place when they have already booked to go there.

Not wise in my humble because if there is something that you really don't like about the place (that people have flagged up) for instance a high crime rate then you might well not have booked blind as it were first.theroyaldyche wrote:Surely you already book because u want to go there?

Re: Coral Bay, Pathos
Great area but I would hire a car even if just for a few days of your holiday. There is also a regular and cheap bus service from Paphos with little walking needed at either end.

Re: Coral Bay, Pathos
Don't hire a car and go off piste in the Mountains... we did a Jeep safari (excellent value) and came across a hire car couple who had grounded the sump destroying an engine (after a photo shoot we drove on laughing as they waited for a towtruck (and a huge bill from the hire car company)

Cracking micro brewery in the mountains that also serves good food including pizza from a traditional pizza oven. It's located in a former winery.
They supply their beers to a small number of outlets in and around Paphos.
If I get the chance, I'll look it up for you.

There used to be a German run Fish and Chip Restaurant on the main drag, if it's still there the food was amongst the best we have ever had on holiday.
Re: Coral Bay, Paphos
Paphos is better. Coral Bay ok beach, if you like beaches.

There used to be a bar in Paphos called the Robin Hood. It served Pendle Witch. I was warned by the bar man it was not the same as at home. It wasn’t!

If you go into Paphos itself & fancy a pint go to Alexander's Bar just off Bar Street. There is a couple of Clarets who live out there & drink in this pub. Watched a couple of our early games out there with them - good lads.

There is, or was, a bar just along from Alexander's that was run by a German, that sells bottled beer from all over the world. He was an officionado on beer if you like it, or a bore if you dontmiddleton claret wrote:If you go into Paphos itself & fancy a pint go to Alexander's Bar just off Bar Street. Some of the beers go up to 65% proof, served in a small glass and very expensive.
Re: Coral Bay, Pathos
I'm coming to the end of a 2 week holiday in Paphos and it's been 30c plus every day. This morning I went to the other end town from my hotel and called athe Green Corner bar, decorated on the ceiling with lots of football shirts, pictures of grounds and some pennants. When I saw one from that lot down the road, I turned it round and it's now just a non descriptive plain white pennant. So if u go in and see it, don't touch turn it back round.

Coral Bay is fill of drinking dens. Beach decent.
Re: Coral Bay, Pathos
cricketfieldclarets, have you now made your mind up for a Nov holiday?.
I fly to Paphos on the morning flight on the 13th.
If this info helps you, re going to Man airport by car. I paid £47 for a week, parking at Ringway car park and there’s a regular bus into your terminals. Same when coming back. Bit of advice if you take your car to a car park. Take a photo of the nearest lamp post, which are numbered and the zone letter your parked in. I’ve seen people who had no idea in the dark where their car was.
If your flight arrives in Paphos, you can get busses (poss No12 to the harbour) up to about 11pm. Some will go to further destinations. But the locals will tell you about that, at the bus terminals just outside the exit. If you intend going for bus rides each day, it’s best to buy a day ticket. Enjoy.

Usually park at Gatley but getting taxi to Manchester this time. Going to hire a car in Cyprus. Do you recommend anyone? Said on other thread that almost booked with europcar but got bad reviews online.
Not booked accommodation yet.
Re: Coral Bay, Pathos
cricketfieldclarets, I can't help you with car hire advice yet. Although I will make some enquiries with people I know over there. If you are renting accommodation and plan to eat out, there's plenty of good places all around the harbour and nearby.
You might even be lucky to see Paphos play, although they're in the relegation zone presently. I'm going to see if there's a home game. Though I've been advised to keep away, I'm going to see if I can find a seat in an area away from the trouble spots.

I think they are playing whilst we are there although the mrs doesn’t quite get the Burnley thing never mind paphos away
Re: Coral Bay, Pathos
Went to a game over there donkeys years ago and none other than Tommy Cassidy was managing one of the teams. What about that for an interesting fact !
Re: Coral Bay, Pathos
The only name in their team I’ve heard of, is Gus Poyets son, who I believe played for WHU. That’s if he’s still there this season.
Re: Coral Bay, Pathos
I’m again going to be in Paphos and intend watching the Cardiff game at the Alexander bar. Is anyone else on here likely to be watching the game there?.
