Dy1geo wrote:What you have done is exactly the point I am making, you are moving the argument from the grooming gangs to the vile abuse committed in the Catholic Church etc. Abuse is abuse and should be condemned wherever it occurs.

Robinson will never mention abuse by “white” people it as it doesn’t fit his agenda and like I said the left need the likes of Robinson to feed on.

It needs more people like Nazir Afzal who says there is an issue with grooming gangs as well as abuse in white households shouting out and this will stop Robinson in his tracks.

The problem i have with Robinson "highlighting" it that i don't have with Afzal highlighting it is that Afzal isn't exploiting these girls for his own ideological motives. Robinson is exploiting these victims when he highlights these cases because he's only highlighting these cases to spread hatred of the people who look like the abusers. This is evidenced by the fact that he doesn't go around highlighting groomers who aren't Muslim or foreign, and the fact that his entire career is about Islamophobia, racism and xenophobia.

If Robinson wasn't so obviously racist and wasn't so obviously trying to spread hatred for Muslims and foreigners for so long then it would be believable that he has good intentions when talking about Muslim child grooming gangs. He wouldn't need to go out of his way to highlight other, non-Muslim examples because then he can believably say that he's doing it because these people are tarnishing decent Muslims with their perversion. But when you know how racist and hateful he is towards Muslims and then see him focusing only on one crime that's committed by Muslims and ignoring it when it's committed any anyone else, then his motives become clear - it's about further exploiting these kids in order to push his own agenda, and that makes him much worse than just a racist. And anyone who supports him is supporting his exploitation.

its all about fairness, this is supposedly a democracy therefore anyone should be allowed to campaign however much others find the message distasteful.
And what's with all this "community leaders" nonsense? the local press are highlighting dissenting voices from these otherwise lame and usually anonymous characters...who has ever needed a community leader in their lives in Lancashire?

When did it become neccesary to explicitly condemn vile, illegal actions rather than it just be a given that every right thinking person knows how bad these things are? Has our moral compass veered so far that people don't know that abusing children is a bad thing unless everyone 'condemns' it? It seems to me that 'calling these people out' has only become a thing since the discovery of asian grooming gangs.
Just to be clear, I wouldn't call that virtue signalling as I know what the term means.

I think highlighting the issue is an important thing. It counts as something, though let's not pretend the issue hadn't been highlighted by the BBC and other news sources, because it was big news. And let's not pretend he broke the story, because he didn't. It's fair to say he jumped on the bandwagon.

If we look a little deeper into this, was he motivated by a concern for children, or an antipathy toward Muslim people? If it was the former then why has he not also gone after youth football coaches, BBC staff, and Catholic priests - all of whom are statistically more likely (far far more likely) - to be involved with child sexual exploitation? If it's the latter, then really he's just using the victims of these crimes to push his own anti-Muslim agenda.

I haven't even touched upon his thuggish actions and hypocrisy.

It’s astonishing that anyone takes this guy seriously. He’s clearly a racist. He’s a convicted criminal. He turned up at the house in the middle of the night to intimidate a journalist who had written about him ... wait for it...doorstepping his critics. He returned repeatedly and threatened to share this mans address and personal details to his mini army of football hooligans.

He was filmed bragging about his ability to ‘score’ drugs in any country he visits. In the same footage he made a racist reference to p*** taxi drivers.

He raises money online to fight his legal cases...makes out like he’s on some crusade....but lives in a mansion in the country?!

If you’re considering voting for this, please step back... read a bit about him...is this genuinely the kind of person you think could ‘make a difference’?

Just seen the above at the start of this post.

The reason why some weirdo who dresses up in funny clothes and wears a pointy hat and believes in a god thinks he represents the Burnley community is because he is a member of the established church. That is why there are just shy of 30 CofE Bishops in the House of Lords. State and Church should not be linked and needs scrapping. Much like the HofL.

Wonder if the flavour makes a difference to the damage done such as strawberry v salted caramel? ;)

The irony lost on here is that “Robinson“ wants the trouble it the tactics Griffin used all those years ago. He wants the publicity and will love the fact that the pictures of the protesters in papers like the Daily Mail are of “Muslims “ many masked up and the fact that they call themselves Muslim Defence League plays into his narrative. If he posted on here he would probably like the posters who are celebrating him being attacked because thats the fuel he needs.
In reality him and his like represent a very tiny proportion on the political spectre yet he gets far more coverage than he deserves because as I said earlier people on the left need the likes of him to feed on.
