Baku uptake
Henry Winter is reporting Arsenal only expect to sell 3k of their 6k ticket allowance and Chelsea 1.5-3k of theirs.
You will be hard pressed to find two sets of clubs who have a huge fan base and from a wealthier City than these two.
Lets hope UEFA get the message.

they will only see it as a vindication of their allocations - and have said as much about previous finals recentlyQuickenthetempo wrote:Henry Winter is reporting Arsenal only expect to sell 3k of their 6k ticket allowance and Chelsea 1.5-3k of theirs.

Any info if the Champions League ticket sales have been equally lackluster?

Quite the opposite.

Pick the location at the QF stage, at the earliest. Simples.

Re: Baku uptake
not that easy so much else around it that has to be prepared for as this thread illustrates (and that is just about sposors releassing tickets to the clubs in the final) https://twitter.com/Prof_Chadwick/statu ... 0601404417" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;DCWat wrote:Pick the location at the QF stage, at the earliest. Re: Baku uptake
When you think of how adventurous fans were in making their way across Europe in the old days and now everybody's just bitching because they can't fly straight to Baku on the day and back the next...

Huge difference between getting to Madrid and getting to Baku.whiffa wrote:Any info if the Champions League ticket sales have been equally lackluster?
Apparently, there isn't sufficient infrastructure in Baku to get 12,000 people from the UK into Baku in the days leading up to the game.
You can drive to Madrid easily enough. A drive to Baku is 3 days plus taking in some of the poorest places in Europe.......no thanks!

Or you could fly most of the way and let the train / bus take the strain.arise_sir_charge wrote:A drive to Baku is 3 days plus taking in some of the poorest places in Europe.......no thanks!

Yes I'm fully aware of the geographical differences, I was just referring to sales.arise_sir_charge wrote:Huge difference between getting to Madrid and getting to Baku.

Of course you could, but I was comparing it directly with getting to Madrid has someone had asked about the ticket sales for that game.thatdberight wrote:Or you could fly most of the way and let the train / bus take the strain.

Re: Baku uptake
Madrid isn't too much of a problem if you use your imagination. Plenty of other Spanish cities you could fly into, or even the South of France. Great rail system in that part of the world. People are being a bit unrealistic if they expect to be able to fly in the day before and out the day after the final and get some cheap flights.

A Spurs fan I know from Burnley is getting the coach over from Manchester. I presume organised by the North West Spurs supporters club.jrgbfc wrote:Madrid isn't too much of a problem if you use your imagination. You can probably go by Euro-lines or a similar operator as well.Quickenthetempo wrote:A Spurs fan I know from Burnley is getting the coach over from Manchester. I presume organised by the North West Spurs supporters club.

55 lads from work took a gamble months ago, 4 nights in Benidorm with a coach trip to Madrid on the Saturday.

Given the predicted uptake and outmr own exploits in Europe, I can imagine Burnley would have matched them!

Re: Baku uptake
Went to the euros in 2012, first game was France in Donetsk. As far east and almost as difficult to get to as Baku.
Was a phenomenal trip. One of the best experiences of my life. Travelled through 5 countries to get there including 32 hours worth of trains in less than 2 days.
Sad bastards wanting to fly in and out of a country they will probably never go to again. Make a trip of it! Especially for a bloody cup final!
