Dy1geo wrote:What you have done is exactly the point I am making, you are moving the argument from the grooming gangs to the vile abuse committed in the Catholic Church etc. Abuse is abuse and should be condemned wherever it occurs.
Robinson will never mention abuse by “white” people it as it doesn’t fit his agenda and like I said the left need the likes of Robinson to feed on.
It needs more people like Nazir Afzal who says there is an issue with grooming gangs as well as abuse in white households shouting out and this will stop Robinson in his tracks.

I suppose he'll launch another crowd founder appeal, after all he is a man of the people.
He won't get anywhere near a seat in the NW region, even brexit voters are in the main repulsed by this individual.

Just to be clear, I wouldn't call that virtue signalling as I know what the term means.martin_p wrote:Damo would also call this virtue signalling. When did it become neccesary to explicitly condemn vile, illegal actions rather than it just be a given that every right thinking person knows how bad these things are? Has our moral compass veered so far that people don't know that abusing children is a bad thing unless everyone 'condemns' it? It seems to me that 'calling these people out' has only become a thing since the discovery of asian grooming gangs.
I think highlighting the issue is an important thing. It counts as something, though let's not pretend the issue hadn't been highlighted by the BBC and other news sources, because it was big news. And let's not pretend he broke the story, because he didn't. It's fair to say he jumped on the bandwagon.SmudgetheClaret wrote:So you think actually highlighting it doesn't count ?
He was on Newsnight highlighting it in 2011, hardly jumping on the bandwagon.AndrewJB wrote:I think highlighting the issue is an important thing. If we look a little deeper into this, was he motivated by a concern for children, or an antipathy toward Muslim people? If it was the former then why has he not also gone after youth football coaches, BBC staff, and Catholic priests - all of whom are statistically more likely (far far more likely) - to be involved with child sexual exploitation? If it's the latter, then really he's just using the victims of these crimes to push his own anti-Muslim agenda.
I haven't even touched upon his thuggish actions and hypocrisy.
But he's not said a single word about any 'white' priests and child abuse, has he?AndyClaret wrote:He was on Newsnight highlighting it in 2011, hardly jumping on the bandwagon.

Tommeh is a man of the people.Indecisive wrote:It’s astonishing that anyone takes this guy seriously. He’s clearly a racist. He’s a convicted criminal. He turned up at the house in the middle of the night to intimidate a journalist who had written about him ... wait for it...doorstepping his critics. He returned repeatedly and threatened to share this mans address and personal details to his mini army of football hooligans.
He was filmed bragging about his ability to ‘score’ drugs in any country he visits. In the same footage he made a racist reference to p*** taxi drivers.
He raises money online to fight his legal cases...makes out like he’s on some crusade....but lives in a mansion in the country?!
If you’re considering voting for this, please step back... read a bit about him...is this genuinely the kind of person you think could ‘make a difference’?

But the point is that you would never hear Tommy Robinson pointing to cases of child abuse had the men involved not been Asian. He only ever targets non-whites.AndyClaret wrote:Some top class whataboutary there, well done you.
