It’s a long way from Ramsbottom Harry Williams was hoping it would move back up north and sign for Rammy United

Dean Martin......

But with the dawn my love was gone
Just like the fading stars above
My lonely heart cries out, "Please come back to me"
Beside the sea in dear old Napoli

Great to see an English player, not to mention a localish lad who made his name here make such a different move.

Big club. Huge fanbase. Who but for Juves dominance wouldve won many more titles especially recently. Have a top manager. But are a bit of an anomoly in Italy being a big club in the south.

Sure he will become a fans favourite there if he shows half the commitment and talent he did here.

If he doesn't know anyone there he's bound to feel cannelloni.

A false rumour....Eric Dier on his way to Naples.

If it was true....the headline, when KT makes his exploratory visit to the city....

Kieran Trippier sees Naples and Dier

Apart from John Charles British defenders don’t have a great record in Italy.
Even Des Walker went backwards there.
Good luck to him whatever his future brings. One of our best.

I know Charles could play in defence, but he was primarily a Striker. He scored 350 career goals.

You are right. Although he starred wherever he played his career as a CH was early on at Leeds. As he scored more goals he stayed at CF, including his time in Italy.

So there have been no successful British defenders in Italy.
