Tommy Robinson isn't having a manifesto in the ordinary sense of the word. We know that already. Instead he has a video explaining his proposal for Britain's future in the EU. That's been posted by spijed on this thread - post 398 I think it was.

Re: Tommy Robinson Tuesday
I doubt many of the people/parties representing the Leave side of the debate have policies.
This election was a bit of a surprise. If you recall we were told over 100 times that we
would be leaving the EU on March 29th.
Anyhow, I didn't realise MEP's needed policies. They are democratically elected yes, but for what?
They merely rubber stamp or don't rubber stamp the policies drawn up by
the unelected/undemocratic EU Commission don't they?
So why do MEP's need policies?

Re: Tommy Robinson Tuesday
I’m confused about this obsession with policies for an independent MEP candidate.
I have no real feelings either way towards Tommy Robinson but I would question what would the point of him having a policy on the British Steel debacle as mentioned in a post above. It would be a paper exercise because quite frankly an independent MEP for the North West with have zero chance of making changes for the Scunthorpe based business.
The biggest attraction of an independent candidate to me is that they don’t been to fall in line with national policies, they can be reactive to the issues of the area that they are representing.

Re: Tommy Robinson Tuesday
Robinson is a product of the failure of the mainstream parties to deal with issues and events affecting communities. For years those parties have not dealt with those concerns taking their votes for granted and now you are reaping what you sow.
Take freedom of movement, Labour allowed unlimited movement when the EU expanded, one consequence of this was the driving down of wages in the skilled manual sector with Bricklayers etc many who are CIS self employed being forced to take a pay cut or not having any work. Unskilled work which by its nature is shrinking found a surplus of people wanting work hence driving down wages and working conditions. People who work in the public sector in general don’t face these pressures Teachers have guaranteed pay scales. This is before the impact freedom of movement had on local services. Yet if you moaned about freedom of movement “ you were labelled racist”
Then take grooming gangs for years in the first decade of this century people voiced their concerns yet the authorities though fears of harming community relations “tried to brush it under the carpet” thus letting down the very people they are there to protect.
You are now seeing some Parents who practice a certain faith organising boycott of schools because they don’t like the new curriculum, with only Jess Phillips standing up to them and mainly silence from other MPs yet if that had been a group of families from a white working class Estate there would have been uproar with them being called homophobic etc
The point I am making is that the party who is supposed to represent and best serve the interests of the “white working class” has moved away from them leaving the likes of “Robinson” the vacuum to exploit with “blame” sound bites.

The skilled manual sector - your brickies and so on - are extremely well paid and tend to call the shots these days. I do agree that Labour need to reconnect with the so-called working class, white or otherwise. You've seen the responses on here from the disenfranchised knuckle-draggers, some of whom you suspect should know better but that's ill-educated mugs for you.

then I'm afraid you need to put a little more thought into it.
Otherwise come Sunday, you are going to be very confused and possibly alarmed!

Many ordinary voters don’t regard themselves as right or left wing. As I said “ Robinson” exploits the vacuum with simple sound bites blaming certain individuals and parties for the situation they are in which as we know stems from a culmination of issues.TheFamilyCat wrote:Your point doesn’t make sense. Re: Tommy Robinson Tuesday
History shows us that after periods of recession or large income-inequality that support for politicians who blame economic and societal problems on someone (often immigrants, and in this case the EU) grows massively.
After years of austerity, Farage/Yaxley-Lennon is blaming poor living standards and national infrastructure on the EU/immigration and people are falling for it because they present their arguments in easy-to-digest soundbites, but backed up by little or no facts.
