Re: Prize Money
Brighton got £107.7m finishing 15th last year but had 13 live TV games.I think we have 11 this season so would be looking at about £103.9m for finishing 15th.

Compared to £119.7m for last season...
Re: Prize Money
So given the bonus pool will be lower similar profit to the recently announced figures then?

Re: Prize Money
My understanding:
£84.4m equal share
£11.5m for 15th (add/subtract £1.9m for each place up/down)
£13.5m for 11 tv games (if that's right as per below).
£109.4m
£84.4m equal share
£11.5m for 15th (add/subtract £1.9m for each place up/down)
£13.5m for 11 tv games (if that's right as per below).
£109.4m

Re: Prize Money
There's a fixed amount of just short of £82 million per club but then there is the domestic TV money and merit fee on top. The domestic TV fee is approx £13.7 million for 11 games and if we were to finish 15th we would get a further £12 million approx.
The pic below shows what each club received last year and the money is the same this season.

The runners up getting more than the Champions .....doesn't seem right that does it?ClaretTony wrote:There's a fixed amount of just short of £82 million per club but then there is the domestic TV money and merit fee on top. Re: Prize Money
All based on the number of tv appearances. We in 7th had less money than 10th place Newcastle and next to bottom had less money than bottom. It will change more in favour of the top clubs next season with the change to the overseas money with them getting a bigger piece rather than it being split equally.Steve1956 wrote:The runners up getting more than the Champions .....doesn't seem right that does it?

Amazing that we were only on TV 7 times last season with some of the football we were playing.ClaretTony wrote:There's a fixed amount of just short of £82 million per club but then there is the domestic TV money and merit fee on top. Re: Prize Money
Isn't the dividing up of the "overseas TV" money changing at some stage to give the so called big 6 a greater share?

A proportion will be based on league position like the domestic money is.Suratclaret wrote:Isn't the dividing up of the "overseas TV" money changing at some stage to give the so called big 6 a greater share?

Re: Prize Money
The new deal will just push the gap even further not that it matters to who's already in this division, its getting harder and harder to keep up especially if you are a newly promoted team without backing the gap will just keep on growing
Only a breakaway will solve it but then it weakens it so whats the solution.

Re: Prize Money
What are “facility fees”?

Don't know for sure but think it is based on TV appearances. Those 2 columns sort of link. More TV games, more facility fees.
Edit - looks like £1.2m per TV game.

That's exactly what it is, with each club paid for a minimum of 10 games irrespective of how many home games are shown.NL Claret wrote:Don't know for sure but think it is based on TV appearances. Those 2 columns sort of link. More TV games, more facility fees.

Re: Prize Money
Frank Lampard's Derby County should do all right financially next season, they'll be the new TV/ media darlings.

Re: Prize Money
for that they stipulate what they want - in recent seasons that has include dedicated power, wiring and communications equipment, 2 boxes with single pane (some kind of special glass overlooking the pitch, special floodlights and around permanent camera positions around the pitch with plug in capability. not sure if it includes the press box with all it's facilities maybe that tis just a Premier League requirement. Every payment cycle tends to lead to additional demands so we may have begun upgrading those facilities again. The promoted clubs are likely going to have to spend a whack especially the bladesRoyboyclaret wrote:That's exactly what it is, with each club paid for a minimum of 10 games irrespective of how many home games are shown.
