That is a good signing and a very positive front foot action from the club

Re: ARTICLE: Nick Pope signs new long term deal with the Clarets
Well this news certainly confirms that Hart has no future at the club (which we already knew to be fair!).
Hart has to be pushing his agent to get him out of the club as soon as he humanly can do!

Brilliant news, also if we were to sell him we would get more money now.

Re: ARTICLE: Nick Pope signs new long term deal with the Clarets
I'm surprised but in a positive sense. I don't think Tom should lose his place but Nick is that much younger. JH clearly leaving.

Re: ARTICLE: Nick Pope signs new long term deal with the Clarets
I think we’d all got it into our heads that Pope would probably leave but this is brilliant news. Having one of our players commit to a long term deal is every bit as important as signing new players.

This is brilliant and unexpected. Fantastic news.
Re: ARTICLE: Nick Pope signs new long term deal with the Clarets
Second all the views that Pope signing an extended contract to 2023
is extremely good news and hopefully puts to bed some of the rumours he might be leaving.
Now let's get one of two decent midfielders signed up!

Wow, just wow. Fantastic news from the club. Feels like a signing
Re: ARTICLE: Nick Pope signs new long term deal with the Clarets
Good news but what will we do with Tom. Will we offer him an extension and will he sign it?

Great news.
New season should mean all 3 keepers start on an even keel.
May the best man win.

Re: ARTICLE: Nick Pope signs new long term deal with the Clarets
Just heard the news and I’m delighted. Quite a lengthy contract. Think he must have be given plenty of reassurances as can’t imagine him wanting another season on the edge of proceedings.
Re: ARTICLE: Nick Pope signs new long term deal with the Clarets
Pope is the future
And should start as 1st choice next season

Must have had a whisper, he will be number 1, or he is a very confident young man...or he just likes being with Tom Heaton and the keeper squad.
Great news.

Excellent news. I can see Nick Pope and Tom Heaton both being very happy to continue their careers at Burnley.

I hope the rest of the transfer window is as successful. Amazing to have have 2 England goalies in our squad.
Re: ARTICLE: Nick Pope signs new long term deal with the Clarets
Really hope you are correct on this one as TH is OOC next year-so we should be extending his contract too.Paul Waine wrote:Excellent news. I can see Nick Pope and Tom Heaton both being very happy to continue their careers at Burnley.

Re: ARTICLE: Nick Pope signs new long term deal with the Clarets
Bloody marvellous news. With Heaton and Pope that’s one position completely sorted.
Re: ARTICLE: Nick Pope signs new long term deal with the Clarets
“With the contract being for a further four years that will carry me through the majority of my career. When you look at a long deal like that, you take into context the club you’re at and the people you will be around every day. I love being where I am and working with the lads every day. It’s an enjoyable place to be.”
Can't say fairer than that. All signs indicate this lad has his head firmly screwed on. An increasing rarity in today's game.

Re: ARTICLE: Nick Pope signs new long term deal with the Clarets
Perhaps he thinks Heaton is more likely to get injured, as he ages!

Re: ARTICLE: Nick Pope signs new long term deal with the Clarets
The keeper job requires incredible patience at the top level.... you could spend a full career not actually playing competitively. As Tom’s contract is running out in a year, there’s a plan in the making, right there......

Re: ARTICLE: Nick Pope signs new long term deal with the Clarets
I’d imagine Pope on loan possibly ( prem club of course) Tom runs down contract and leaves on a free next year . be 34 but a brilliant buy for a low/mid prem team .
