I'm looking forward to this.

Better for us if Derby win?

. predicts an early goal for Villa will be enough to take them through.

Fancy watching a reyt good game today.

Hopefully 10 goals a piece
Couple of reds
Bit of handbaging
Last minute goals
Penalties 7 missed each

And a Derby victory

The Championship playoff finals are generally pretty poor games. So much riding on it, players are scared to make mistakes. I did fancy Villa with the way they finished the season but I'm starting to think it could be Derby's year after the way they won at Leeds.

Yep for sure - especially if they lose their loan players back to their parent clubs.

I'd prefer a Villa win, I'm not sure I could stomach the Sky Lampard ******** that would ensue.

My Villa supporting mate is going to this game so its got me wanting them to win has he's been on the Turf a few times supporting us and did the ground tour
It's going to be a cagey game but i think Villa will edge it
I've got a few Derby mates going to and it would be better if they came up for us Villa had the experience last season so i dont think they will want to let this slip against the bottlers.

One of my mates is also a villa fan and according to him " it's about time we had a proper team in claret and blue in the prem " so i hope they get stuffed . Plus , their newish owners would invest a lot of money into the team if they go up .

I'm surprised that the bookies make Villa pretty strong favourites (21/20 cf. 16/5 for a Rams win).
Villa were only 2 point ahead of Derby in the league season and Derby did for Leeds in the first play-off round. It looks very even to me so I might have a few bob on Rams @ 16/5.
I think Villa (if they can keep Grealish especially) have a better chance of survival in the Prem but both will find it tough going. As a Claret, you've got to want Derby to come up- given our record against them recently. (9 wins and 3 draws since we last lost to them I think).
I think there'll be a few goals despite the tension and fear of mistakes.

Can't stand villa. Their fans think they're entitled to be in the Prem. They are slightly lower then Leeds fans in arrogance. Hope they get rammed. They've dicked Derby twice this season and Derby haven't been able to score against them, this is football so we all know what's going to happen (my head says villa will win). Leeds had dicked Derby twice this season too. The football gods will be looking after Derby today.

Me neither. FLs already being bigged up in certain circles as the next Chelsea boss.

But Derby would be good, cos with them and the Blades and Naaarch, that would most likely be the basement boys sorted for the drop, with a bit o luck.

Villa would have more of a chance of surviving, I feel.

LOL They were indeed "proper" four the four years or so prior to dropping. Proper rubbish.

Leeds did the double over Derby too and we know how that turned out in the semi-finals.

Hard to call. Villa should win but the playboffs truly are a lottery.

Hope Derby do it. Good, young English manager who has done a very good job first season as a boss. Fancied him to do well.

Hope him and Gerrard continue as theyve started. Look like good young managers.

I wouldn’t read too much into Derby beating Leeds, they were dire after March.
Villa go in as the form team but I can only see either of them struggling next term.

Derby deserve to go up for their services to English Football in knocking Leeds out at the Semi Final stage. Come on Frank Lampard’s Derby County!

Hopefully Derby will triumph this afternoon.

They have a squad in which their best players are on loan, and whilst Chelsea will no doubt lend Lampard another team, it will be harder for them to adapt than Villa I think.

Leeds might have been dire from March but in the semi final v Derby they actually played very well in both games - as did Derby.

On their day Derby were as good as anyone in that division but with such a young team they were not consistent enough and also struggled when Wilson and Mason Mount picked up injuries.

Villa been great since Christmas and never seem to know when they are beaten - they came back to draw or win in so many games....but in the semi final they were not great - West Brom were a lot better than them in the first game and the whole leg changed on the Gayle sending off who up to being red carded was by some distance the best player on the park.

Really is toss of a coin stuff and can easily see it going to penalties...that’s where my ten bob bet would go.

No strong preference but for selfish Burnley reasons I think Derby would find it tougher to stay up next year whilst Villa may have a bit more longevity.

Derby is usually a very good day out and our record their has been excellent recently, on the other hand I do like Villa’s ground so I’m going for Villa this time.

PS: We also won there last time out so am hoping for 3 points as well.

Villa's run started too early (if it hadn't, they wouldn't be at Wembley today), and Derby seem to be hitting a bit of form if that performance at Leeds is anything to go by. Derby for me. Just.

Unusual that both teams lost a leg in the semi finals.

Villa were lucky to get past West Brom despite being the form side. Derby beat Leeds in one half.

Head says Villa but want Derby to win.

According to the Tranmere website they have been promoted 3 times via the Play-offs and lost one final have just checked

1990/91
2017/18
2018/19
and lost playoff final 1989/90

You asked for teams that have played in finals not just won them :D

last third of the pitch. Not exactly dreading facing either of em next term, unless they strengthen considerably.

Not liking how Derby are playing. They don't look sure where to pass it and are turning to pass it back too often.

Villa making it difficult for them though.

You are basing it on less than half a game? watch him play 30 games, then comeback with an actual opinion.

It’s like watching 2 average fifa players.

Just head down and get forward fast - get tackled or misplace pass and attack opposite way.
