I liked the look of the Jade and Black Kit, and the fact that we barely won in it doesnt effect my liking of it. Some thought it Jinxed, but not me. We were just awful away from home because the then Manager was tactically inept at setting a team up away from home. Nowt to do with the kit.

Yes I was there at Southend that day when for one reason or another they had no shirts so we let them wear our Jade and black shirts
As soon as Southend ran on to the pitch wearing the 'jinxed' shirts I KNEW we would win

Their home shirt was dark blue, and they had come with their away kit which was red.
They wore our green/black tops with their red shorts. It was an odd combo

Maybe in the past but the present Adidas kits that teams wear always appear to be good quality. They don’t supply Man Utd and Real Madrid for nothing. Just would like to see burnley having a decent kit for at least one season again!ClaretTony wrote:All the Adidas kits we had were the basic cheap shirts they sold with a badge on. Exactly my thoughts, you can't blame Adidas for somone at the club signing a deal to be supplied cheaply made tat.Goobs wrote:Not sure whether that says more about Adidas or our club really.

Re: New home kit
Not sure you can blame anyone at the club either too much as we don't have the largest fan base and outside of Burnley fans you won't get many people buying our kit (there are the odd one or two that will buy any kit they think is nice), so why would we pay extra for a bespoke kit made of the best material as it would only have eaten into profits, which back then would have been needed.Barry_Chuckle wrote:Exactly my thoughts, you can't blame Adidas for somone at the club signing the deal.

Adidas were very clever, selling cheap run of the mill tshirts for inflated prices because they had a badge on. So it says more about our club.Goobs wrote:Not sure whether that says more about Adidas or our club really.
At an AGM around that time, a spokesman for SuperLeague (run by Joyce Pickles & Frank Casper) asked why they couldn’t tender. One director told them to buy another had already told them they were too local to be considered.
We switched from Adidas to SuperLeague once Kilby came in.

Re: New home kit
I'm not talking bespoke kit design, it's off the shelf shirts we are on about here, so if Adidas as supplying low quality tat, do a deal with someone else. Burnley will have focused on profit rather than quality of the product. It was that way for years, IMO the quality has improved massively in recent years, not only on shirts (which are still not a bespoke design) but on leisure wear, Scarfs and t-shirts.Goobs wrote:Not sure you can blame anyone at the club either too much as we don't have the largest fan base and outside of Burnley fans you won't get many people buying our kit (there are the odd one or two that will buy any kit they think is nice), so why would we pay extra for a bespoke kit made of the best material as it would only have eaten into profits, which back then would have been needed.

Re: New home kit
I'd like to point out that the Adidas kits where not THAT bad, even in terms of quality. They got off to ropey start with the quartered home kit which was booed when it was paraded it around the pitch. Liverpool had the same template as an away kit in 1996. But I wore them all the time - no worse than Mitre, Errea or Puma or so on.

Wasn’t quite the same template as the Liverpool away shirt.
Their shirt had a grandad collar, whereas ours was a thick V neck

That’s cool man I don’t mean to argue about trivial things, I just thought the away kit top from that was era was good, I agree the fabric was crap though.ClaretTony wrote:I was only basing it on the cheap stuff we got from them.
Maybe I have a thing about Adidas, don’t get me started on the latest badge!
Re: New home kit
As long as the new kits aren't as bad as those from Superleague and TFG. I don't think the tailor behind their measurements had ever seen a human body.

Re: New home kit
What is the delay in releasing the pictures of the new shirt?
Not that it really matters, I don’t buy them anyway but obviously from the leaked pictures the promo shots were some time ago.
Is it a case of having to wait for the deal with the old supplier or sponsor to expire?

We always seem to be slow at this, and with making them available to buy.
This weekend is Father’s Day and would have been an opportunity to get some sales along with selling before people go on holiday

Yes the earlier they are on sale the more chance you have of shifting them I would have thought.
Presumably there is a reason for it somewhere.

Scroll down to see who they sponsor worldwide. We will be a very small fish in their very big pool. Wakes holidays will not come into the equation.
They are also owned by Nike who have their own brands to source first.
