Yes, and far from brilliant. Feel for him and his family.

He looked a mess, it wont be too long off us hearing the sad news, if hes in that state.

It’s desperately sad and I really hope that Gazza one day can get through this. He has one hell of a battle on his hands. One thing I find interesting...I’ve spent months and months being quite critical of our club for the way they over-promote gambling companies and despite getting support from a large number, I’ve been called out (fair enough) by people with an opposing view. Yet I’ve read comments from a few of these people in the last hour or so, saying how terrible addiction can be.

Understand where you are at jdrobbo but about the only addictive product society has had much success over is tobacco where adverts are gone. The next three will be difficult to ban from advertising I'm afraid as most folk do not get hooked or even partake (apart from the third) and these are of course alcohol gambling and food.
Paul will never deal with his demons I'm afraid and one has to ask where was the humanity in posting that short clip of a man in such a sorry state- really really sad to see a fellow human being heading for skid row when all his money and charity are finally gone and everyone is powerless to help other than not to buy him drinks, get him the drugs and post such unhelpful material.

Sadly, it’s my belief that gazza won’t beat his demons. Many have tried to help and guide him, but he has never been strong enough or smart enough to take his chance. I’m afraid he’s too old now to ‘get it’.

I don’t think gazza will die an old man. Great shame that one of the best ever English footballers should find himself here.

The guy posting the video needs his head looking at too! Whatever your opinion of Gazza or anybody else in similar situations...you have to question somebody that thinks it is okay to "leak" and humiliate another human like that

The guy in the video says that Gazza is his hero, yet posts the video online for the world to see, humiliating him and highlighting his problems in a way that was totally the opposite of what you’d do if the man was your hero!

To see that video actually upsets me a little, he clearly has problems and he can’t get them under control, he’s tried on numerous occasions and it saddens me to see him slipping back into old habits again.

I sincerely hope that he can make a full recovery, however that’s my heart talking, my head is telling me that it could well be too much of an ask for a man who had immense talent, and who was a very loveable character on his hay day and probably still is when he’s feeling 100%.

This being said Paul Gascoigne is a high profile example of this happening, yet there are many many more people suffering with this same problem, and it’s a lot closer to home than you think. It’s way way out of control and I don’t know how this can be resolved.

Good luck Paul and to all other sufferers .

I think the reason why people on here on are talking about it is because he was an exceptional footballer and massively popular, you could tell how passionate he was, and that he also seemed to be a character, that this added to his popularity. It is also a football message board.
Its a sad state of affairs no matter how cold or ignorant to it you want to be.

I find it weird how 2 superdtars of their generation are treat so differently. We have a media that rips down players like Gazza, and fans are quick to judge and knock . Yet compare to Maradona who never can do no wrong in his media and fans eyes.

Truth is gazza doesn't have long left. Perhaps the most shocking thing is the BRAZENNESS of the chav who posted the vid and his twitter replies to the people who condemned him for posting the vid. Real chav **** is rife in the UK and it's hard to see a way forward for future generations.

Sorry but he is a tool. Loved him growing up but he does this time and time again. Even when sober he tells stories about Sir Les Ferdinands cock being big because he is black.

The Sun does have a lot to answer for for the way they tapped his phone and made him think his family were selling stories on him causing him to fall out with them all. Also lots of chdhood tragedy, his cousin dying on the park with an inhaler, and the boy getting hit by a car in front of him.

But if he wasnt a footballer how many people would say its okay he needs help? Most would heckle him on a council estate (which without his talent where he would be) and tell their kids avoid the crazy man.

He is a wife beater, racist, and is sadly enabled constantly

George Best was just the same, chance after chance, yes it is a terrible illness - alcoholism, but it is also very selfish. Even when sober GB used to say he would have another drink if he wanted, didnt bother him, and didnt care for those closest to him.

We have children dying due to NHS cuts and costs of operations yet these people constantly get help. Grown men that cant live a day withour drink.

Maybe harsh but my view

Think itd get a padlock or removed if the video was linked. It's not pleasant viewing for those who loved watching him play, and want to only remember him as a footballer.

Nothing like Adam Johnson IMO, I dont put sexual predators, child groomers and/or paedophiles in the same bracket as an addict, but I could be in the minority with that....

And who said forget about Gazzas behaviour, I just said "some might", I've seen the video.

Nothing to do with what the sin is though when you only want to remember them as a footballer. You are basically saying they can do what they want, and by just remembering him on the football pitch all his transgressions dont matter.

Kurt Nogan had an issue with alcohol but was hounded out of Burnley and booed because of this. Keith Treacy also got lots of grief off our fans because of his alcohol problems. Yet Gazza gets a pass because he was funny and scored a great goal against Scotland?

Apologies also if it seems my posts are aimed at you personally, they arent meant to be, its aimed at the sympathisers to his issues, who say just to remember him how he was on the field, as if it that gives him a free pass

I'm not saying I only want to remember him a certain way, I said "some might". I've seen the video, and I have my own morals or opinions how people should behave, regardless of public status etc.

Whether its Adam Johnson, Gazza or a man in the street my opinions of them and the crimes the commit dont alter because of who they are.

It's sad. But I'm also not going to be slagging off the guy who posted the video.
You can see the look of someone who doesn't know what to make of a bad situation - Never meet your heroes really.

Perhaps he is wrong to post it, and possibly disrespectful. But if a national icon can fall to this point I'd say it is a warning of what can happen.
I understand he has demons but has been given more chances than most to try and beat them. So I can't help but feel he chooses not to. Therefore, if he has regularly chosen not to try (and I mean try) and beat them, then this is the result.

As for the Maradonna links. If Maradonna was to be staggering around looking a mess asking strangers for drugs I'd have the same sympathy.
I'm not saying Maradonna handles it better, but it does look that way.

Most of our players in the early 90's were drunk. Even the managers.

While DM has had his fair share of well documented troubles , he’s also had long periods of being clean and even managed his country . Whereas Gazza has been nothing more than a self pitying alcoholic drug addicted shambles cum runaway train seemingly beyond help . There was a vid of him bloated and beaten a couple of weeks back, and the “ gazza found asleep in dustbin “ stories barely raise a few column inches .It’s a terrible shame but he’s been offered every help imaginable . Kenny Sansom also pitiful story was living as a tramp virtually he may even be dead now ? Few people in the county wouldn’t wish for a healthy Gazza but..
