World Cup: England v Pakistan

Post by Bosscat » Mon Jun 03, 2019 10:09 am

England win the toss and will bowl 1st.

Be an interesting day, can we emulate the Windies and bowl them for just over a hundred....

Looking forward to this.

Looks like we could lose this if we don't start taking wickets...

Englands bowling has been a little off line for me and we are giving them to many easy runs. Would do well to keep it less than 300

Could be a tough chase later, but it a good track for batting so England will feel confident whatever the target.

At last Moeen comes to the party, can't drop catches like that J Roy  .Owes his teammates big runs now.

Could be a turning point another wicket there and England would be slightly on top.

Archer back into the attack need some magic from him.

Normally you'd back England to chase 350 at Trent Bridge, but the leggies causing problems already,Root dropped on 9 could be a vital moment, should have taken that really.

Morgan needs his eyes testing l. Getting bowled out by a straight one at 50 mph is not the stuff of internationals.

Root has to convert today and anchor the innings,no good getting to 50 and getting out as he often does.

Stokes gone for 13,big wicket that,i'd make Pakistan favourites now.

118-4 in the 22nd over, just need to play sensible cricket for 10 overs or so and build a partnership.

Keep the rate below 10 for as long as possible and keep Buttler in and England have a real chance.

Typical England. Can’t do it when it counts. Root and Buttler played for themselves, got their hundreds and got out. Poor day for England

Pakistan always seem to be like this. Either brilliant or hopeless, no in between. They could just as easily go and lose to Afghanistan now.

We lost that game through poor fielding.

If we hold onto regulation catches and avoid brainless misfielding we win comfortably.

A blip.

Poor fielding and not putting pressure on their fielders by strolling singles .Ali bowled well but his innings cost us.
