To be fair to him he probably is forced to shave them on account of all the operations he regularly has on his legs

I like Defour but you’d need to cross more than your fingers for this to happen.

He’s also not our best player. That accolade must go to someone like Ben Mee or James Tarkowski - consistently good for a couple of seasons.

No evidence to suggest this, seeing as he’s hardly ever fit.

He was a very good footballer in his day, though.

He might never be fit again, and he’s never been properly fit while he’s been with us.

That’s my point. It’s a bit disrespectful to consistently solid performers like Heaton/Mee/Tarkowski to suggest that Defour is some kind of saviour when he hasn’t actually done anything with us to merit these plaudits.

Impossible to compare players who play in different positions.
Who can say Defour is a better player than say Heaton.

I find Burnley fans that slag him off a bit harsh.... Short memories eh? He doesn't want to be injured does he.

Theres nothing worse as a sportsman not being able to do something that you love because of injuries, it's genuinely soul destroying.

All 90 of them?

I’m happy to be proven wrong, but I personally think Defour is finished and hasn’t been a good buy, although that’s easy to say with hindsight.

He's got loomynarty tattooed on his leg. All the $hit he gets on the internet is from bluelabrador and his other accounts sockpuppet accounts.

Side note: before reading any comments I noticed he shaves his legs and placed a little bet with myself: 'Blackrod will have something to say on this matter'. Lo and behold...

Mate, just be honest with yourself, for Christ sake. We'll still love you.

Best player? If I was told that Defour would be fit but the devil's bargain would be that Barnes would not play, I wouldn't feel the side was improved. (Or Mee. Or Tarkowski. Or Heaton/Pope. Or McNeil.)

The only player we have on our books that might, possibly, occasionally, approach nudging the perimeters of "world class".

But people still call him out for being injured.

Weird.

Ability wise he is head and shoulders above anyone else in our squad, apart from maybe McNeil. Those goals he scored on the Turf against Hull and Bristol City in his first season were pure genius.

If it helps Blackrod, before it being pointed out that he shaved his legs, I thought he had girlie feet. And CIK it's not about being injured per se, it is the fact that he is out of the team for very lengthy periods through injury that is the problem.

I fear we may get some use out of him until, say October, then he will get injured again.

No question the guy is a class act when fit. It’s wether we as a club can afford to carry and pay a player who is likely not to feature much. It could prevent us from signing a player who does feature. Hope I’m wrong but I don’t think we will see more than 10 90 min performances next season. His career record shows a pattern but he is now older and in a tough league with a team that requires a lot of effort and running instead of just ball playing.

Go back 2 seasons and look at the style of play and confidence we had with him on the pitch. The whole team was better with him on the pitch. The best footballer we have had in 50 years , if you can't recognise that maybe you should ask your guide dog.

His last 10 league appearances take us back to December 2017 and brought us three points. That’s been the problem unfortunately, he’s not been fit as much as we would have liked in the last three years.

I asked my guide dog he said Trevor Steven and Martin Dobson were two Clarets' midfield footballers of the past fifty years who had lenghy careers at the top level which far outshone Mr Defour's cameos ? Trevor Steven showed more as a teenager than we have seen from Defour as an experienced player , Trevor Steven went on to play 36 times for England and won multiple league titles in three countries .. Martin Dobson is a club legend end of . Defour is technically gifted no doubt and he has been very unlucky .. and that is about it.

SD has been injured quite a lot in his time for us,but is still one of the finest players to ever worn the famous Claret shirt, and in the Premier League era he's the best by a long way.

56 years we've spent at the top table of English football and you really believe that Mr Defours good performances in a limited number of home games have elevated him to the status of being 'one of the finest players to have ever worn the famous Claret shirt' wow  ...

Like Defour. It's all well and good saying he's our best player when fit but being injured all the time means he isn't. We have far more important players in the squad.

Going off his actual contribution then no, but ability wise he has to be up there? There's a reason Fergie wanted to sign him for United.

Ok I respect your opinion,he doesn't ask to be injured,he's been unlucky, there is a fantastic footballer in there and I have seen glimpses......I like him,I also rate Jeff Hendrick....but that's another story. :D
